so the real question is, when will we have a prog/house piknic?

Victor Calderone
Hernan Cateneo
Chris Fortier
Dave Seaman
John Digweed (might not be as expensive on a day booking)
elFreak
everyone of those guys other than seaman do not play prog anymore. (hernan might a bit)
malek
prog slash house

i'm being vague on purpose.

They don't play DnB do they?
elFreak

In the case of Piknic, that can only be done by having several thousand paying customers every weekend. The first 1000 people is us... the core that made piknic what it is...but the other 3000 will most likely be kids. You can only expect Piknic to bring more electro bookings to attract the younger crowd that loves to spend their parent's money.

This being said, we may not see the same invasion as it was the case at Igloofest because most kids don't think it's cool to party during the day. Fido will be a loyal sponsor once again, but I doubt that Musique Plus (which I blame for the fluo invasion at Igloofest) would be interested in sponsoring the entire piknic season.

spoken from somebody who ive seen at piknic wayyyyyy more than any of the other TAs... well said... and I hope you're right... I don't mind seeing some young faces... I just want to make sure they show respect to the people/venue/DJs....

See you this summer!!! I can't wait!

Garnier would be nice! Lets leave the prog house to tribe and those places. Piknik is our only hope to see everyone all those other places are scared to book.

As far as I know Fortier plays mostly tech house now, with a bit of techno. It's also what he's producing.

He wouldn't be a bad choice for Piknic, but I'd say he's on the meh side for me.

Lee ing Burridge plz and I don't want a set like on Igloofest...

I want something like his resident advisor set in November 08...

Best tech house I have heard in a while, not a single breakdown, 70 minutes of pure bliss.

I'm just throwing some names. I've been to piknic a few times and I still don't have any memorable moments musically speaking, piknic is hit and miss, and it seems i've been to the bad ones. Hopefully this year it'll be different.

You missed the point completely

People here are not complaining because some people don't know the music, or are here just for the party. Those are good people. They learn when they come, they hear other sounds, other music, new music. They are tomorrow's customer.

People here are complaining because they don't like the younger generation's attitude, for their manners.

The thing is, yes, of course, the younger kids are pushy, they are not always polite, and they make the older crowd (who may know or not know the music) a little angry. But the reality is that these pushy kids are also tomorrow's customers, and if you don't accept being pushed a little, then in 10 years, you don't have anyone coming to the parties.

that's what you don't understand

that the kids and those who dont know edm are not tomorrow's customer

they are today's customer !!

there will always be kids !! there always has been
and there will always be people who dont know edm, as there has always been
u really think if the older crowd doesnt accept them that theyre gonna stop partying ??
i dont see the logical chain of deductions in this..
put urself in their shoes
would u stop going to these events if some tells u to scoot?
...

the younger generation's attitude is a recycle of our generation
we were EXACTLY the same
perhaps you, you and you werent
but you werent the ones the older generation noticed
they noticed the ones who push, just like what you guys are noticing
and making general statements about

my point is enjoy the ride and stfu!! unless u get charlie horsed and beaten with a stick give the kid some attitude back instead of whining
who the is gonna go "ouch charlie that hurt peace love unity and respect man im so gonna talk about getting my feet walked on on TA"
