No actually that is not the real question. Michel Quintal has exquisite taste in electronic music and hopefully it will stay this way, that's what made Piknic Electronik a worldwide known quality event.
Piknic is about Electronic Music at his best, hopefully it will never offer these names just to fill the place.
Why as soon as something gets a little popular we see people suddenly wanting to rape the event with everything it is not. They go once and suddenly they ask for lazers, Armin, Djs wearing mouseheads and tribal music. Why not a Piknic in white, so you can buy yourself a little white bikini?
One of the reason we love Piknic is because the sound is actual. The event is a door on the world's most cutting edge music. We see good locals that have a chance to shine, selected for their skills, not how many friends they have on Facebook. Names around the world that you would have never seen otherwise.
Plenty of prog house crap at Beach Club if you want to hear it.
And I am personally very happy about this new generation of kids interested in EDM. They are giving new fresh air and energy in my career and the scene. I have seen these kids smile, and have fun like we once did, I love them for reminding me what it was like, and because of them, I still can express myself with music. Let's embrace this new generation, because most of your friends have now babies and go out once a year (probably in a white bikini). |

thats good for you Martin, but that doesn't answer my needs, when will we have a house/prog piknic, in other words if I translate, a similar event with house/prog, not necessarly replacing the current piknic. I was throwing the idea around to spark discussion. |

Sparking discussion is good, that's why I reacted. But why would Piknic answer your needs? Why a product would have to please everybody. Should we have a gay piknic day with Offer? Maybe Paris Hilton could be the host one day, that would answer another one's need (whatever that need would be).
You said yourself, numerous times, that you don't even care that much about music.
There's been some similar requests on Ravemontreal, people starting asking for a trance day and stuff like that.... that's why I react so strongly, I am tired of beautiful things that have a vision turning into this mash up of everybody's needs. Needs that weren't there in the first place. |

i can remember bringing some friends from dallas to piknic a few years back. They spent the afternoon gushing on this little girl getting down with her parents. Where else in the world do you see this? It is a beautiful thing, much more beautiful than lazers and unicorns and crying to breakdowns. |

Je vais l'écrire en français parce que l'expression en anglais ne clique pas pour vous: "A house piknic" est vraiment flatteur au piknic en fait... un evenement formule piknic mais pour la house, pas nécessairement le piknic lui-même. En fait, le piknic semble marcher, et il ne faut pas le changer. |
