You pointed that I mentionned once that I don't care about the music as if I insulted your intelligence, in fact you took it out of context and fail to get the big picture.
Most people want to have a good time, music is just a pretext to gather and have fun. Most people don't care which remix you threw in and most of forumers here don't bring a pen and paper to an event. What we care about is that the music you decide to play pleases our ears and gets us moving, preferably sober... |

to some degree the music that is playing is important, the type of music brings in a specific type of gathering of people (in most cases). I dont care which remix or whatnot is thrown into the set, as long as i listen to music that I like. BEB proved that yes, with all your friends there can still be fun, but music plays a big part, listening to music brings a drag, for me at least.
i've always respected Piknic for getting names, not necessarily huge names, but names that would never get booked anywhere else (imo very talented names)...for that big respect and see everybody there! :D |

I am fully aware of diversity, and that not all people go out for the same reason or like what I like.
Well Beach does do house prog bookings no? Didn;t Calderone played there once? Why wouldn't be good for you? |

An aspect of this to consider is that bridging the current generation-gap may also bridge the 'mainstream-gap'.
Back when I was 18 and coming to piknic, "electronic music" was still taboo amongst the general population of highschools and céjeps. That bridge was burned two years ago when it seemed as if electro had become the new indy.
I'd be highly surprised not to see an influx of fresh young faces at piknic this summer; hopefully they will learn a thing or two, resulting in Montreal being able to afford a full year of solid bookings (/musical elitism :p). |

thats what i was hinting at.
piknik's mission has always been (as they stated several times) exploration, discovery and accessibility for EDM in Montreal. |
