2- piknik DO bring other sounds in the open air, just not THE sound YOU want.
You can definitely want another sound, but saying that piknik is not diverse enough is totally unfair. |
after five + years of piknic you can only name one house act (josh wink), thats diversity for you? Please let's be real here, piknic is mainly a tech and variants event. Which is fine. But please drop the diversity label :)
which circle us back to the remark i was doing a few pages ago, someone should do prog/house events outside à la piknic. |

GTFO. Is that happening this year?
And my 2 cents...
Only thing that worries me is that they keep bringing the same DJs year in year out...obviously those are all good DJs but I feel like sometimes they get booked because either somebody who can pull some strings really likes them personally, or because they know they can rely on them for commercial success. I'm all about keeping Piknic in the underground, or whatever. Progressive House and Trance wouldn't even work all that well in that sort of setting IMO. I already hate all that Electro bull like they had at Igloofest.
Anyway I'm sure this year's season will be ing great and I know I plan to be there quite often:cool: |

As I stated earlier, they dont have THE PRECISE SOUND that YOU want, but they are a diverse as can possible be.
techno, tech-house, minimal, dubstep, dancehall, electro, breakbeat, they even had a drum and bass act at igloofest, FFS. you can all find it at piknik. they even had trance à la james holden!
which takes me back to my comment about how you can want to have another event, but piknik DOES deserve the diversity label
edit: oh, and by the way, Piknik will have The Mole, on May 30th, who plays disco and tech-house, so...yeah. if you like more housey stuff, you should hit it up |

yes, that was quite amazing to hear, not to mention the fact that they had to go on much longer than they wanted. shame on me for having to leave before they were finished :(
The next epic tag team at Piknik = Villalobos + Zip. Can't wait ! |
