preference should have no bearing on the quality of being world-class.
based on his profile, 'tiesto' is what he considers to be world-class talent.
in that respect, from a dj'ing standpoint, i would say the vast majority of the love djs exceed his standard. | personal attacks huh? u have no idea what my preference is based on my profile, so child please!!!...that profile was created in 2002, when Tiesto was very revelant...as he still is in this world...without the likes of him and oakenfold, alot of this music wouldnt be where it is today......as far as world class goes, where in the world are all those DJ's from? 90% are locals im sure.......so world class my ass |

can someone please explain to me where i made a personal attack? thx.
on the other point, because a dj lives in sf, he/she is not world-class? a couple of these guys just got back from european and south american tours, others get invited to play at demf, decibel and other major north american festivals. others yet are on major labels or started their own. what is world class to you? having a different color passport? |

Oh of course I agree, but people have their preference on who a world class artists is and in relation to your response their own definition.
For example a world class artist to me is Sven Vath, but I'm sure a lot of people will disagree

They actually have to be from a certain destination to be world class? IMO a world class artist is someone who is recognized by people from around the world. It's actually crazy how many people praise SF DJs. I just recently went to Australia and they couldn't stop talking about how much they love OM, Salted and Dirtybird.
The people I personally met talk more about those labels and Kaskade than anyone on the planet.
Of course a lot of them are locals, this is the first year we billed as many locals as possible
It's a San Francisco event, SF should represent! |

good to have more la peeps representing this year
imo name recognition is too subjective to encompass 'world-class talent'... for instance, to people who aren't into techno, sven vath wouldn't be seen as world-class even though he really does push the envelope. my standard for world-class talent includes any dj who can perform on vath's level, which sf & la's scenes have a lot of... |
