It's always been like that. Some people are there for the music and want to enjoy themselves, some people just want to pose and "be cool"

where is that fawning over sasha pic? :p

Also, anyone know if and when Stereo will be open Fridays again?

Personally I don't mind the new Stereo concept. I can see where they are coming from and what the people of Stereo are trying to do and just recreate clubbing for the joys of going out to party and enjoy the music. I am fairly new to the scene and have only been going to after hours and raves for a few years now. So Sona and Aria are just before my time. However I have heard epic stories from many people.

I've never been one to watch the DJ booth even when I started clubbing, and still don't. I go out and like lenazi said “2 feet on the floor, back to the booth “ kind of gal. When I was at Stereo opening weekend, the fact that the DJ booth was so high up was nice, there was no Jesus posing or praising. I saw enough of it the night before while at Sensation for Armin van Buuren.

So far since re-opening labour day long weekend Stereo has done nothing else but deliver a good night with good music and a good DJ behind the deck. I have yet to read a ty review about Stereo from the past few Saturdays. I personally like all the DJ that have been booked every Saturday so far, but that's my opinion, not everyone else.

I completely understand where people from other cities such as TO are coming from where they want to know in advance because it is a bit of a travel and does require a bit of planning. Usually booking a hotel and everything. I also don't live in Montreal. But so far have faith that you will be given a good night, and don't go into it with high expectations. If you don't like it well obviously don't go, at least all the other nights Stereo has planned are being advertised. I know I will be at Stereo on the Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend regardless if I know who is spinning or not. I'm going to keep an open mind about this secret Saturday until I hear something that makes me think otherwise.

i can't imagine what is was like to dj in the aria fish tank with people doing nothing but stare with a rape face. I'm sure you had more than one geeky guy in a rm t shirt scare the crap out of you because he just sat there staring like "children of the corn".

ha ha true. But it did made me a better DJ, the pressure of playing there for the first time, with everybody analyzing each single thing you do, I can't even describe it. Very intimidating.

But after a while it was fun, and god I loved that big ass mixer.

A vivid memory of aria was the night that Louis had to step up because burridge canceled. I'll say that what Louis tends to play is not my personal "cup of tea", but goddamn after he got over those initial nerves, he even made the wannabe burridge rapers do a fist pump or 2 while making their train spot list.

I think the only time we actually met, was because ninja (remember him?), insisted i go into the booth to say hello. There were so many RM people in the booth that you had to get security to clear it :haha:.

I wish i could remember the headliner. I remember you playing a lot of king unique back then:p
Ravemontreal
yes Louis had very impressive skills right off the start... I was there that night also (maybe i was opening or something)... Good memories.

I didn't play A LOT of King Unique, only the Girls Can be Cruel and The Switch remixes.

What happened to Ninja anyway?

(Don't want to hijack the topic, back on Stereo)
