| A DJ doing the Jesus pose is absolutely essential to a good night............... |

both sides have compelling arguments.. sometimes it's interesting to see the dj working and enjoying it, soaking up the crowd, etc but the Armins and Offer-types are way over the top (yes I mentioned Armin and Offer in a Stereo thread :p )
Only the kids need to see the mouse helmet |

the drawback is clueless kids who stare like zombies and all want to be in the front....the music can be amazing and they will complain that the night would have been better if the dj smiled more.
see: digweed.
do a test...search for reviews of any of his nights in other sections of the board...count the number of times you see "music was awesome but john looked bored, so the night could have been better." crap.
look at your friends...the djs don't want to be yours, they are doing a job.:p

lots of ppl are clamouring for Eric Prydz to do a Bal en Blanc massive, they'll be equally disappointed with his stage presence as well :p
don't really need to see the dj myself, just need know who is spinning or taking over for the previous guy/gal. I couldn't tell who was spinning between the five djs there when I was at Stereo for NYE.. I wanted to know who was smelling up the joint from 10-2AM :toothless |

tan and tone her up and she's hot (one above, not Offer).
Stereo keeps the dj hidden 'cause they're actually not even there. The dj gets paid x amount for name useage and to eat cornchips in his underwear while at home and Stereo pays half the fee it normally would, win-win for both.

dude... if you're cool with looking at a wall while you dance all good... me I like to see the dj work it, work the eqs, backspin on cdj kinda thing, looping live... these are the kind of djs that make me go WOAHHHHH....
you go for the music.. which is played by the dj... who you want to see!
would you pay 100$ bucks to listen to u2 but not watch them in person? doubt it...
but its not exclusively about how hot the dj is francis hehehee :p
unless its miss nine :D |

At the price DJs are paid, they should give a little bit of show
most of them are FAKIN boring to watch
I'm on your side Marcus!!
but your comparison with a live band is kinda low tho :p |

one of the best rock shows i ever went to was for Tool, and they played behind a screen and you could not see them.
we should ask seth troxler to dress like this i guess.

Thankfully, I'm not there to watch a DJ, I am there to listen to a DJ - and dance. |
