that isn't the original, because if you look carefully the flyer on the table is a deadmau5 poster...i know who did that;p
lenazi
also sasha is the new frankie wilde, guys let him die in peace.

the music he plays right now is as relevant to today as janis joplin. digweed is better....but then again he is the "tiesto" of house so i await the flames.

there are so many djs that montreal has never heard of yet that would make you let the poor guy retire.
Ravemontreal
Saw digweed not long ago, it was very good, very well done, couldn't ID one single track and it was pretty underground stuff. He doesn't play old stuff or classics, Please don't compare him to T.

That was my review:

Avalon, the club itself, is amazing. The sound is outstanding, it's huge, and the led lights are top notch.

Lawler was very very good, super solid (as usual), flawless. I think he was a little overly tribal... I don't dig the Viva releases since 9 months and that set was very representative of those tracks. African style chants and some cheesy housy vocals. I like the darker Lawler. But no matter what he plays, he will bring you in that zone that is very unique and that so few can do. He is the only one I heard, that is so steady in his flow.

Big, BIG problem with Avalon is the crowd. I thought I seen the worst in Miami, but this was on a all new level. Made me wish I was back in Miami. I will never go back there again.

I noticed right away that this was a majority Asian crowd, which really is not a problem for me. But after an hour, I realized that I had no clue what I was getting into. If this is representative of clubbing in Asia, I will never ever go there. Psychotic, rude, aggressive, drugged out of their minds, mysogine, disrespectful, sweaty... Had to get out of the dancefloor because I was about to get in a fight every 5 seconds. It was a very, very unpleasant experience. Nothing in Montreal, or Miami, or NYC, was remotely close from what I saw there.

i've seen lawler in asia (seoul, and i think i told you that he redeemed himself after so many years of wanting to pelt him with rocks), trust me it is not even close to LA.

it is being on another planet.

where did you post that review out of curiosity?

and always my classic drunk at 10 am on 20000 wan scotch and sodas with the viva midget.

highlight of the night = drunken gf calling him steve lawnmower every 2 seconds.

i seriously wish that i had better pics of the asianess from that night.

that pic echoes my sentiments about the night. i know it is a stereo thread, but until they do something more interesting than opening, lets be nostalgic.:p

also clovis (the opener) is not bad too, you just have to get past the brie smell.
lenazi
and yes, sylvester stallone sold me his hat on ebay .

I posted that in the Lawler @ Tribe topic, I think Marcus asked me about Avalon.

The resemblance is uncanny:
