i agree i think it would be decent at 25$, but how is stereo expected to make any money?
as for your friends, you gotta make them see the other side. how much do your friends pay to go out in another club (normal club hours)? probably around 8-10$ cover if not more during special events (think Karma, Tribe, etc). drinks cost between 6-12$ depending where you go out. you have at least 2, buy a round for your friends, a shot to the cute girl on the other side of the bar, pay for a cab, go eat poutine at 4AM, etc... i say it comes up to the same thing if not more than a night out at stereo and everything that it involves. |

that's because they think like plateau people think... that everything revolves around them and that if you don't live right next door (which is a dump) then too ing bad for you.
The idea is great if the cover is 20-25$ max, you take a chance, you don't like it you walk away. But even then, what about the people that trekk to Stereo from outside Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, New York ?!? Are they willing to take a chance ? not sure.
and yesterday was 40$??? come on.
kanabeatya, 100$ dropped in a club/night is ok, because you get something in return (drinks,food, whatever) while dropping 40$ at stereo and walking away is juste a big waste. |

well obviously, if you walk away it is a big waste! but if someone is willing to spend 100$ in a club, then i say they should be willing to spend 35$ at least once to experiment in my opinion what is supposed to be a unique party environment, a vibe like in no other place, a sound as pure and clear as no where else. i dont say go every weekend, obviously.
and dont get me wrong, my worst fear is going one night and be extremely disappointed with the headlining DJ and then finding out that the following weekend my favorite DJ was at stereo......
rrrgh i dont like the concept either and i agree with the 20-25$ cover. and they should have reduced guestlists like at circus. come on, us montreal whores love guestlists! |

Seriously what a retarded idea, this like telling people come pop and don't worry about the music..What if I don't like that DJ or the music genre. I m not gonna go to after hours or rave without knowing whi si playing.
Anywyas I m sure this will be on for abit and they they will realize it is not working. |

Thanksgiving weekend so far is sounding like it should be a good one. I'm still thinking about if I should go to Calderone on the 12th or go home and rest after Black and Blue.
I know its only Monday but any thoughts or theories as who might be there this coming Saturday??
I know myself and other friends of mine will be going to Black and Blue for sure. But a few are already discussing leaving Black and Blue to go to Stereo for Howells right after Sasha and Digweed are done their set. |
