WOW full-time. 1-0 Switzerland.
Honestly, not a bad performance from the Spanish though, so much possession and good movement but absolutely nothing to show for it. The luck was with the Swiss today.
Let's be honest though, this doesn't mean that much. They'll still make it through the group and advance. Clearly missing a fit Torres, and no secondary support. |

This had to be one of the most exciting games to watch so far in the World Cup. Great job by Switzerland!!! :)
They won even with 5 minutes of stoppage time and a ref who was totally showing favourtism to Spain with that last yellow card AND corner kick!! Total BS. |

i don't think i've ever seen this many shutouts, draws, and little goals scored - - - ever!
highlights from yesterday:
-maicon's goal from brazil was :eyespop: :eyespop: running towards the line, outside curve just past the keeper's hands!!!! what a in trick shot!!!
-ronaldo's free kick was pretty sik yesterday - rattled off the post
-ivory coast is contender for best underdog team
-n korea has superior defensive skills - they played surprisingly well against the 5 time champs!!

One of the things I love most about the world cup is you get to experience every nation's soccer culture, but those damned horns drown out all the other nations. I realize it's in south africa, but it's called the world cup for a reason, and it's not all about you![/rant] |

| CBC is trying to filter out the horns. They are also asking the commentators to switch microphones to minimize the horns. |

Spain were just not going to win today. Swiss deserve a lot of credit for their defending.
BTW, Webb was not favorable to Spain, he is just a really, really bad ref. If he was favorable, he would have given a non-existant penalty like he gave Austria in the Euro's or something along those lines. Look up his track record, he is just a horrible, crappy ref. |

If that's the case, refs that bad should not be allowed to ref in ANY sport really. |

FIFA always choose the worst ref's, it's not a big shocker. They are the ones to blame because they let guys like him get away with these sort of things. Don't think this is going to end here; I can only imagine the sort of that is going to occur at this WC when it comes to officiating. |
