I think he's not talking mostly about how Fifa reacts to North America but the other way around with NA not understanding Fifa or Football (Soccer). |

FIFA is .
Profits are FIFA's bottom line. They fiercely protect their brand. They pocketed much of the net revenues from the South Africa event, and leave a huge burden of debt (around $1 billion) to pay off to the hosts in a country where 40% of the population lives on less than $2 per day. I read a good article on BBC New on this. False marketing, fake economic and financial predictions, long-term financial ruin for South Africa with questional infrastructure and economic benefits, in a country where corruption, crime, violence and ignorance still strong.

Couldn't agree with you more, man.
But - Spain is full of very dirty and cheap players ... the pathetic stunts/insults they carried out after the German team lost to them in last Euros was ridiculous. Poor professionalism. |

I concur, sorry I forgot to leave them out of that statement!! Both teams are dirty in their own aspects!
So frustrating as I was really looking forward to a solid game.
Germany played so composed on the field on Saturday, young team yes, but disciplined and well structured. Uruguay, the same. Talented team with a lot of heart. The difference between the world cup final and consolation is eons apart in terms of quality soccer and heart....
oh well, can't wait till euro cup 2012 now!! |

I'm BEYOND excited :) my country is co-hosting it with Poland, this will be awesome! Considering that I'm usually there in June for a vacation, I might even make it to one of the games! |

I wonder how well the preparations for the next World Cup are coming along ... I heard Ukraine's construction work is far behind schedule, because of bureacuracy and lack of money (economic crisis there). Looks like it might be just Poland.
So wait - does that mean that both of those countries will automatically qualify?! :eek: |

I meant to say Shahtar won in the final of UEFA Cup 2008/09
