horrible games....................

i dunno, i usually LOVE world cup matches and always look foward to them but this year has been super boring and conservative

in terms of spectacle the world cup is unmatched. in terms of quality of football the euro's are much better.

the thing with the world cup is ... half of the teams that are in it are just straight up and unwatchable. the quality of the football is just not there across the board. there are a dozen or so teams that are good to watch and outside of that it's pretty much just filler until the knockout stages. the tournament will be better like it always is once the knockout stages begin and all the pretenders have gone home. until then have fun watching lame-o teams like greece, north korea, algeria, new zealand etc etc etc play

it's not like the euro's where 16 teams qualify and at least a dozen of them have quality to their side, with a realistic shot of making it far.

lol @ all the empty seats

Three games that I have seen so far have been pretty bad for that ... Serbia v Ghana, Slovenia v Algeria and by far the worst so far was Greece v South Korea where I don't even think that 60% of the stadium was full. Pretty sad.

What's worse for me because I love this stuff is that I don't see any or hear any atmosphear at any of the games. No tens of thousands of fans singing and chanting in unison. Just tens of thousands of people blowing those annoying as horns. Horrible. No fan culture at this tournament whatsoever.

lol i totally agree with you.......i was super shocked at the lack of fans present at some of these games..........ESPECIALLY korea vs greece.....like WTF, is this a blue jays game?!?!

and world cup vs euro up statement...again 100% agree....i've always enjoyed/had more fun watching euro cup, far less BS games and just straight up soccer :)

I think it's safe to say that the World Cup has officially started with Germany kicking ass....was afraid Ballack's absence would hinder the squad but they did brilliantly.

I say Germany is gonna take it home this year!!!

Although I am also rooting for the Ivory Coast based on their games against both Argentina and the Netherlands in the World Cup 2006. I remember so many unfair calls. The refs definitely didn't want them in the second round!
