So far its estimated that it will cost $35 billion to rebuild. Plus yesterday they were saying some 80000 people were missing and now no one is talking about that number :nervous:

Kudlow was listening to a report about the global stock markets doing well in the wake of the quake. "All in all, the market taking this in stride," his co-host said to him.

"The human toll here looks to be much worse than the economic toll and we can be grateful for that," Kudlow responded. "And the human toll is a tragedy, we know that."

The death toll was already a given, so he's saying that it's fortunate that there wasn't also an economic collapse. People need to stop trying so hard to twist words around.

+1

It is an anger which defies my ability with words, right now, at just how far down the scale we appear to have gone.

It's a market show. Why shouldn't they comment on the effect on the US economy?

"good" isn't a word I would normally associate with a tragedy.

it's fine to comment on the US market. but i think it's a little insensitive to say that a tragedy that killed thousands of people is "good" for the US economy.

She didn't say that was summarily 'good.'

She said that traders think that the fact that oil prices are dropping is good for the US economy.

touche. perhaps seen in a little out of context.

It's not even 'out of context.' It's intentional misinterpretation and fabrication, for the purpose of stirring up outrage. The fact that all the context IS there is what makes any outcry over this absurd. Hey, a way to shut up Larry Kudlow! All abooooooard!

i dont' care if it was larry kudlow or some other dude. i don't even know who he is or what he stands for. i have no knowledge on this guy. i just hate for the sake of hating. :o
