Our professor in Japanese class today said her family was in Tokyo and luckily ok.
Some of the other professors are still trying to get in touch with their families, but unfortunately communication is really tough at the moment. |

Breaking: An estimated 6.6-magnitude earthquake has struck Nagano and Niigata prefectures in Japan, the Kyodo News Service reported. The U.S. Geological Survey says this latest event is a 6.2-magnitude temblor.

Does anyone know if the small islands in the Pacific have been hit by the tsunami? French Polynesia etc?
I'm quite concerned for them as many wont stand a chance against a 2/3 metre tsunami. |
