Massive Quake Hits Japan! (pg. 58)

I'm going to be very careful with regard to food and drink in Tokyo, but for Osaka and Kochi I'm really not worried.

Part of that is because even if there are trace amounts of radiation in the air, water, and food, I don't think consuming it for one week is going to cause any severe long-term health problems. It's the people who live there or spend months/years there that may have to worry.

EDIT: There is also the fact that we still have a month before the trip, so we're optimistic things will improve by then.

That is ing terrifying!...Wow.

Did they make it up the hill, didn't see anyone get swept away but that old lady wasn't moving particularly quick.

Terrifying. Wish that guy would've stopped shouting "hurry up (more)" and actually gone down and helped.

From what they said, it's reasonable to assume they all made it, otherwise they'd yell something like "The old lady!".

How? It would be a suicidal move to actually go down there and pull them up unless you were prepared and had a rope or something with you. Telling them not to look back would be a nice idea, as the fear could freeze them up, but there's always the possibility that people will do exactly what you're telling them not to do out of curiosity. If anything, the yells of "Faster!", "Come!" and "Hurry up!" do serve a purpose, as they startle the runners even more and help bystanders let their tension out.

Shoulda gone with "ING GODZILLA IS BEHIND YOU, RUN BITCH RUN!"

They're Japanese! If you yell "Godzilla", their first reaction is to fight it rather than run from it :D

It always seemed to me like the "average" Japanese person just screamed and ran :p
