One of my best friends is in Japan now, but I've got no idea where exactly. She's been backpacking through Asia Pacific the last couple of months, and everywhere she goes, something disastrous happens/has happened.
First she was at a Cambodian festival where hundreds of people were crushed to death, then she went to Australia a few weeks after the floods, then she went to New Sealand right after the quake there and she's been since about a week in Japan now. I texted her after I heard the news this afternoon but I haven't heard back from her... She's probably safe, but , this just really sucks :(
It was also reported that the tremors were to be felt in Beijing, but I haven't felt anything. Luckily China is safe from the tsunami, don't think the authorities here are very prepared for disasters like this... |

That's crazy.
China gets hit with a quake hours earlier 28 die I think... Plus also remember Indonesia getting hit with a quake also yesterday.
As for Hawaii, everyone practically heading for higher ground just like what they did back in 2010 when they had a Tsunami warning. I am happy my parents didn't extend their time in Hawaii. |
there was one in japan on wednseday as well... guess once in a week isn't enough.. :( |

Perhaps this means that the Indo-Australian one moving which obviously runs right through NZ has caused the movement in the pacific one which runs by Japan? Like, a chain reaction I guess? |
