Uh, any particular reason why no ban on ASSAULT WEAPONS? What good ing reason does a civilian have for owning an assault weapon, that a ban would limit?

First off, this right to the goddamned moon. You know who the "paranoid personality disordered" are? Me, mother******. Second, citation needed? Where are the pea-shooter advocates?
I'm anti-gun. I'm incredibly, emphatically anti-gun. You know what else I am? I'm an archer. My bow is way more than a ing pea-shooter. And it's also not capable of killing 20 children while they're huddled in their goddamned school. Even a ing crossbow can't do that.
And you know what else? If what it took to make sure that no more like this would ever happen again was a full on ban on anything but a pea-shooter? I would welcome that. I would break my bow across my goddamned leg and toss it into the fireplace if a ban like that came into place. Because you know what? The lives of actual goddamned people matter infinitely more than my ability to possess a deadly weapon just because it's fun.
| quote: | | The fact remains that getting rid of guns isn't going to prohibit people from being violent. There are any number of factors contributing to such violence and while reasonable, efficacious legislation concerning guns is a good start there are a host of other issues that, were they adequately resolved, would alleviate the prevalence of such massacres even if gun laws don't necessarily change. |
Yeah? And did you read what you just wrote? No, getting rid of guns won't stop violence. But it will stop violence from involving FLYING METAL.
you. you very, very much. your mental illness ableism and your false equivalency and your hyperbole and your inability to see that the right to own a weapon for fun does not outweigh the right of another human being to their life. You and the heads that think like you are the reason that we have 26 more ing people dead today than there should have been.
There was a reason I came to this thread. It wasn't to rekindle my hatred for humanity.
http://www.newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org/ is accepting donations that will go to the families affected. I contacted them earlier to see if that included comfort items.
I would imagine it does so I'm going to go crochet my rage away in hope of actually doing something helpful and productive in response to this . |

Here's my opinion on the subject:
Basically, people who do this kind've tend not to have advanced social skills for a lot of different reasons.
Sure criminals can get guns, but criminals are too busy making money and or shooting each other over turf wars to do like this.
What makes you think some guy who goes around hating everyone and having no friends can get the kind've criminal connections that require keeping a friend for at least one year? Just because blah blah blah can get one night stands occasionally doesn't mean they actually have social skills.
Short version: Ofcourse making guns illegal reduces gun violence, only an American would argue otherwise. Especially when it's perfectly possible to have pistols and rifles legal for hunting/hobbying but nothing that contains over 6 bullets at once. |

He's been like that for quite a while now. I'm far from being the first person ever to suspend him.

Now, I'm just waiting on the response from the NRA side. Sincerely hope I can count on the same amount of incendiary invective and selective nit-picking that ignores my main point about cultivating a more equitable society to mitigate much of the anger so prevalent in the culture. Brilliant satire! |

easier said than done
but no guns = no problem
And i think citizens in the US have much more to worry about than the government turning against them.
There should be a massive gun recall, only weapons to be held by citizens should be hunting weapons.
leave the firearms to the army and law enforcement. |

Will never happen because of the gun lobby. The gun industry makes hundreds of millions in gun and ammo sales. No way they would every open up the door for a possible gun ban. This is the heart of capitalism, cash is king. |

lol. it's not like the US is their only customer? common!
they can sell to whoever they want. That's the beauty of capitalism.
Raise the bar on US military arms to make up profits.
It's not rocket science here. |
