Since 1968 there have been 1 million American deaths by shooting.

This compares so 21,000 for the UK, which, has a quarter of the US population.

Honestly guys you need to stop having so much pumped-up fear in your hearts. Be real Men and walk without guns. The boogey man probably ain't ever gonna come your way. If he does, man up.

The media can't get off this dude's nuts.

I haven't followed this story since the day it happened, but I turned on the news a few minutes ago and it's still talking about this .

Talking and talking and talking and talking and talking about this guy.

STFU already!

No wonder this happens. People want to be famous and these ing idiots are falling for it.

I'd say that about terrorism, but this isn't terrorism. It's just pure selfish evil for the sake of it. There isn't really much that can be done as far as I know. Censoring the media (or letting the media self censor) doesn't help IMO.

And really, who knows, no one's seen this kind've attack before. Maybe the media coverage is making it worse, maybe it's making it better. It's not even a revenge attack, this one is far far more extreme.

Yea, Americans keep watching (like my uncle who sits on his fat ass glued to the screen) and it gets ratings, which is what the media is driven by.

For s sake guys, I have no idea why people (like Bill) are still saying it needs more details, and we look at the problems of a few small number of people who "are deranged" and therefore it's not the "fault of guns".

The facts are out there, so let's stop dancing about this issue:

1, You are more likely, NOT LESS, to die by a gun if you own one. In fact, 5 times more likely.

2, The chance of you needing a gun to defend yourself during this mythical armed break-in that gun owners seem to think will happen every night, is statistically far lower than the chance of you dying cleaning your weapon.

3, Gun ownership has made life more dangerous in the USA. More people own guns in the USA than anywhere else, and more people die because of guns than anywhere else.

4, Current US gun laws mean anyone can buy a gun, regardless of mental health, criminal background or openly professed intent*.

5, There have been 63 mass shootings since the 1960's more than 10 times the number of mass shooting in other countries.

6, It is easier to legally procure a gun in the USA than in any other developed country.

* = Although each state has laws that are meant to prevent these things, multiple undercover investigations have shown that if you turn up to a gun show (which is the most hideous loophole itself) with a wadge of cash you can buy anything, no questions asked.

Yes, there is most certainly a massive aspect of neglect when it comes to mental healthcare, hence the cries from the pro gun lobby telling us there's "madmen everywhere" and that's why you need a rail gun mounted to your corolla, but the fact there is virtually no metal healthcare in the USA, and plenty of mentally unstable people, is more the reason why guns need to be far more difficult to procure.

My point is that we have the data.

We have the details.

It has been publicly announced that the weapon he killed the majority of those people, was the one semi-automatic weapon he had on him.

And yes, it was an AR15. If his mother hadn't been able to buy that gun, several other kids would still be alive.

My point is guns, especially automatic/semi weapons have no place in society. They make it more dangerous, not safer, and America, hopefully is finally getting the message.

Really? Kids being shot dead by automatic weapons?

Tell that to Norway.
