Honestly, something has to change and I think this is the start. It's always the more progressive states that lead the way, but the NRA needs to be stripped of it's power; The lobbying needs to be curtailed and people, especially politicians need to stop being scared of the gun lobby/NRA.
I think I heard a spokesperson for the NRA boast that they had got something like 28 of the 34 senators that swung the original Assault Weapons ban, voted out of office for "going against their freedoms".
I wish some billionaire would make it his personal challenge to run them in the ground.
