yes djprototypex you can load any wav in fruity loops
if u use flstudio4 you can just open a blank audio channel
just wondering, is there a better version of the acapella? i mean... the echoes and reverb sort of restrict what you can do with the voice. if someone has the original acapella without all those effects put on them that would be superb |

There are few professional producers/dj's on the forums such as John O'Bir, Goldenscan & Dave Dresden & Plastic Angel.
Maybe if we ask nicley they will do some guest judging :D:rolleyes:  |

Holy crapola! 37 entries thus far! With this many peeps you might want to consider enforcing a 128kbit encode and a max length of 8-9 mins!
37 entries x average size of 7 megs = 259 megs! That's a lot for 4-5 judges to download!
Also 2 months is way too much time. For people who have other things to do, sorry but then you should consider not entering. I mean just because 2/3 people don't have the time does that mean the rest should wait 8 weeks for a decision? Another side effect of having that much time is that majority of the people don't finish/forget anyways (does the last competition ring a bell?).
I propose to make the deadline in 3 weeks, 4 AT THE MAX.
That's my 2 cents. |

128 is horrible quality...we shoudnt do that...I've aksed all people who voluntered to be a judge to pm me tpo make sure they have an unlimited cable connection so they can judge, and one judge ha sdone so and is still happy to do it.
Also, i proposed one and a half months as a compromise....
Have you actually entered btw, because all i've seen from you is complaining about the track :( ...so if you havent entered (i MAY be wrong, but i dont remember adding you), why do you care how long it is?
I'm not trying to argue with you, i just wish you would be a bit more positive. |

128 KBit sux...I think we should go by 160 - that should be enough.
1 1/2 month seems good to me, as one month would be too less for me :D
I'm still doing a remix of Under Construction - Umleitung, and I only start with the Damaged Remix when I'll have finished the other remix - since I also have other things to do, this will still take about a week.
For you guys having problems with the vocals... try to do a dub version first and then try to employ the vocals... if you won't make this one so you'll still have a great dub version ;)
and things can always be changed in a track if you need to do so for the vocals ;) |

128kbit is sufficient to judge the tracks faithfully, all that quality crap is bollox :) And just to prove it here are 2 short clips of a remix I did recently, one is at 128kbps and the other at 192kbps, I wont tell you which is which, so take an educated guess.
Hopefully you wont listen in winamp to get the answer and use that shabby quicktime player instead :)

I will enter but only if the deadline is reasonable, that long is unreasonable for me, I'd be too impatient and most likely forget about it. A sense of urgency is a good incentive to get it done. I'm also not fond of the acapella, I was expecting it to be dry, but it's got both reverb and delay already applied.
I only said those things because I wanted this competition to be good for a change, not to bash it. In the past 80% of the people who originally signed up never ended up submitting their entry, and the deadline had a lot to do with it.
You simply cannot please everybody, if you've got other projects at hand then perhaps you should consider not entering, or if you really want to, you could put off those projects and devote time to the competition instead. |
