deadline coming up (finally) and a few ppl dropping out but other ppl finishing up.
to the ppl who recently just uploaded their track, how many tracks were there completed and uploaded on that upload page? |

I'm down with the ing flu, and therefore not allowed near the computer by the olds, add that to my cpu problems :/
im going to do my best to finnish it however...ill just have to sneak and hope i can get enough time to finnish it off (crosses fingers) |

the upload area is offline due to an email from the ing RIAA telling me that i am being warned for making songs available online.
Email me your remix's @ [email protected] and then ill put a thing together for the judges.

That's rubbish, ignore it...these are AMATAUR works done by ta's, none of them are signed, email them back saying so.

i hosted a file for ENDRE.. and it was "rank 1 - airwave (endre remix)" and read this...
A warning has been issued to you for sharing copyrighted materials including the name "Rank 1". This is the first warning out of three, if you reach the third the RIAA will contact your isp and you will be subpeonad and taken to trial.

I was asked to host it so he (endre) could show ID+T the remix because Benno showed interest in his work... well long story short.. i got ed by the riaa.
i emailed benno of rank 1:

I have emailed you before and you have been very helpful.
Well, one of my friends who you have talked to, "Endre", worked on a remix of Airwave for you. He is just an amateur, however, I believe he contacted you and you wanted to hear his remix. As a result, he asked me to host the file on my small server so it could be listened to by ID+T and yourself. Well, the RIAA searched my server, found the file, and issued me an email saying that i will be subpeonad and taken to trial. I do not believe i was in error here for hosting an amateur file. Please help me with any information that can be useful or some advice as to what i can do!

from what you posted before it looks like you haven't actually been subpeoned. You have just recieved your first (automated) warning out of three.
regardless tho, thats utter bull. you were hosting a file at the request of the artist. i doubt they can actually do to you. you said endre had the rights from Rank 1 to remix the track and you were hosting it for people for ID+T with endre's permission. so even if you have to go thru the hassle of being subpeoned and brought to court, they have for a case. but who knows.
keep us informed of what happens. |
