Well all in all i am about 35% into my remix. And if it ends up getting changed i think ill probably just sit it out and finish the remix i started for myself cause its probably the best production ive done.
But hey.. in the words of motorcycle... "life goes on" |

I'm into mine as well, it's going ok, i wont win heh, but its a good experience for me. I'll finnish it anyhow as well.
Mabye it should just stay the same. I mean, you CAN de cheese this, listen to the neo & farina mix! |

i agree with it staying but ive said that too many times already.:p
I wanted to know if you could add a rule that the remixers must be signed up by a certain date. So we can know who and what to expect. this will make it easy for when i setup logins for the server.

About the song...
It's a remix competition so... it doesn't really matter what song was picked up, it's a challenge
For the next comp the winner will give 5 songs and we'll make a poll to choose one so this problem won't occur anymore, but for this one it's a bad idea to change the song now because some remixers have already started their remix.
for those who think that we can't do something good with this song listen to the Neo & Farina Remix, it's really a great job ;) |

Well said. Thats my view at this moment. It's a REMIX, you can change the melody etc, you can even minimize the use of the vocals, or run them through a vocooder if you want. Just because the original may be commercial doesnt mean that your remix has to be.
IMO we're sticking with this, and as you said, listen to the neo & farina mix.....that should show that it can be de cheesed.
