Not really haha, it would totally negate the equation and equate it to 0 or something! :toothless
|
but that's perfect, a divide by zero and voila - earth has several billion years to clean itself up and 'evolutionize' a new race of ppl.
by the way, does anyone else feel like the outside machine world was like underworld / hell, even though it was on top?
and, man, when they surfaced above the clouds and trinity saw the sun... that was awesome... but she served her purpose and thus she died, although they could've done it in a less cheesy, less obvious way than do the "what's wrong, trinity" "i've been pierced by 2 cables" shot. heh. |

As to when exactly he fought Smith in the past, I dunno...
|
Perhaps the cycle requires a Smith as well as a Neo, to serve as his Nemesis and to drive him on... So as well as a neo there was also a smith in every preceding matrix, while Seraph the oracle, the architect and a few others remained (exogenous factos of the model or constants in the equation if you will lol). |

sorry, i prefer not to apply buddhist philosophy to sci fi movies, no matter how applicable it might be.
|
Any particular reason for that? Sounds a bit arbitrary, without giving a justification... Is it just Buddhist philosophy or eastern philosophy in general, or philosophy in general?
To me the little robed bald kid who says "there is no spoon" is almost as explicit a reference to Buddhism as the appearance of "Simulacra and Simulation" is to Baudrillard.

That could work...
Matrix = Heaven
Zion = Earth = "middle world" present in a few mythologies
Machine world = hell |

i just don't like overanalyzing things, when you overanalyze, you take suck the fun out of them... philosophy's all right, but when it's buddhist and there's a lot of it, that's just too much for me. i prefer to think that this is mostly an action movie and that buddhist philosophy is at a minimum... although the bible thing... gah... |

Yeah with my weirdass personality I apply philosophy to almost everything... makes it more "fun" for me in a way. I guess it depends tho... But surely you must've seen the Budrillard hyperreality thing in the first one... :D |
