disagree. Actually the real personification of the Devil is the Merovingian. Neo & Smith are one and the same entity really. The God vs. Satan theory is incorrect, and unsupported.
Besides, the yellow "matrix" everyone is talking about is not a second matrix, but the machines´ activity. If you watch closely, you´ll see that Neo, when blind, cannot see Trinity nor any other human being. He can only see machines... when he doesn´t use his eyes anymore. Therefore, Neo was never human, but a program implanted in a human body (like Bane). He was a program, bound to the rules of the Matrix and to the powers they gave him, but unable to make a choice at all (that´s why he finally surrenders against Smith in the end, when he tells him he was right).

Concluding, there is NO yellow matrix. It is all a representation of the machine thoughts and feelings. He was a god for the machines, not for the humans.

interesting.......... i had a theory about neo being not human... it's interesting that he can only see machines, but at the same time i feel like there's a flaw in the above quote... making a choice... i think that's it, he WAS ABLE to make a choice...

sorry, but the first half of that sounds like complete bollocks to me... implants??? wtf?

i have 3 things i'm concerned about :

1. Neo as Moses. I know that he's supposed to be Jesus and all, but just the way he stops the machines at the end of M2 and everything, he reminds me of Moses. I'm not religiously savvy, so correct me if i'm wrong.

2. The Indian man, Rama Chandra - this is what i could find about him : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama_Chandra
interesting.....

3. 01. Now, this is what boggles the mind... why do the machines have such a huge defense line around the perimeter? We know that 20-30 sentinels could destroy a ship and 01 had millions of them. Now, how many hovercrafts did Zion have... 20? 50? Wouldn't the machines know the humans would never attack 01? That's like going against a tank with a pencil... so why all those bombs? Why such massive defense measures? [/QUOTE]

Welp in response to your third concern, if youve ever played a comand and conquer or star craft style game, when you have way to many rescources and no enemys that pose a threat sometimes you just like to bulk your defense, haha probably same concept. Or who knows by that era machines could have been warring with an alien race as well, now that woulda been a hilarious twist, zion is crushed neo defeats smith, all in first ten minutes, then the movie shifts to this war between aliens and machines hah i would have rather seen that

this is a perfect sum up of the matrix series http://slate.msn.com/id/2090753/

lol, so true, i'd always build like 50 mammoth tanks and 3 rows of turrets and then i'd attack the AI... :D

and as for the article.... come on, msn? what can you expect...

and:

I can't tell you what a letdown I find all this. Agent Smith has no stature, and he's an amazingly tedious bogeyman: All he wants to do is complain about the repulsiveness of humans and sneer at the idiocy of Love

????????????????????????
and what the hell is he supposed to be doing??? TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD? looks like he alredy did that... man, they have no ing clue what they're talking about, smith is awesome.

Now that I've watched the entire trilogy, I've still got a few questions left.

Anyone care to take a stab at explaining what this meant philosophically (From The Matrix: Reloaded):

Trinity: You told me never to get on the freeway. You said it was suicide.
Morpheus: Then let us hope that I was wrong.

I can't seem to understand if it's JUST a conversation, or if it's got some hidden meaning behind it.

I didnt read the whole thread, but I can say that last night I finally watched the movie. I thought it was just as good as the first one, lots of action, I like it alot. The ending was left too open. Did NEO die?!!?.. where did the machine take him?!?!.. Yes he is a Machine, I got that. I think I need to sit one day and watch all three together.

actually, you SHOULD at least skim over the thread because neo DID die - he returned to the source and thus the prophecy was fulfilled. btw, he is portrayed as jesus - he dies for his people.

as for the machine part, there's no definite theory on that; personally, i'm more prone to think that he WAS a machine (that would give extra significanse to Rama Chandra's little speech about love in the beginning)

and someday i hope i do sit down and watch all 3 together!

the only significance i see in this statement is that there are so many people out there and they're all driving, which makes it more dangerous for the rebels

what bothers me more is that how in the first part everyone's so afraid of the agents and the very powerful morpheus almost gets killed... yet in the second part trinity fights smith...

Terrorsmurf
i saw it in the IMAX theatre which was pretty rocking. the sound was so loud and crisp and the screen is so huge its just amazing.

Anyhow I thought the movie was pretty awesome and I was pretty satisfied with it all even though it was kinda bad on some parts. I wished the last Neo/Smith fight could of been more kung-fu style instead of them flying at eachother but whatever.

When the movie was over I felt a little uneasy thinking that there was actually "peace" between the machines and Zion. I mean all the machines had to do was go and kill them all and it would be over forever right? Why would a machine keep a promise to the dead Neo? Oh well good movie in the end. Pretty decent trilogy although LOTR is gonna be a better trilogy.

ok i have one question thats kinda pissing me off, if the first matrix, neo kills smith (well unsuccessfully but he didnt know that)

so why does he fight agents in #2? or merv and his crew, why doesnt he just delete them?/??!?!?!??!?!
