I just can't figure out one thing, and would really appreciate an explanation for my question.
How does Neo affect the machines in the real world?
I mean, even if he is a program or a human with a program in his brain (something like Bane), how does he PHYSICALLY transmit the signals that mess up the sents/sent bombs? The only thing I can think of is implants, but he was checked over by Morpheus's team when they got him, no? Unless it was hidden in his Matrix plug connector or something...I dunno
What do you say? |

oh, THOSE implants... no, he draws his power from the source, as the legend goes. he just channels it through himself. that's pretty much all there is to it, hope you understand what i mean, cuz it's almost 1 am here and i myself don't understand what i'm saying... |

Hmmm - I just saw it today.
I was amazed by some parts. For example the huge sentinel battle - which was fantastic, and the final battle was superbly done.
But I think the part which everyone's disappointed about is the ending. I think it was open in some ways, but certainly not fully.
The whole idea of an "equation" that needed to be balanced - was an interesting concept. So the only way to solve it was for Neo and Smith to "become one" - neutralising the equation like acid and alkali coming together.
I thought the final sequences were weak.. and perhaps a little cheesey for my tastes.
There's probably alot of the film that I don't yet grasp and may increase my appreciation for it.
Nevertheless, you can't help but appreciate it's cinematic brilliance, even thought the plot may have fallen short of the mark |
My thoughts exactly.....cool effects (as usual), but the plot was a little bit lame for me. |

Just got home from watching this... was disappointed. Wish there were more fights and less bad love scenes. BTW, did anyone notice just how deep the cuts "lead general" in the APU had on his face after all those sentinels hit him? No way he could talk after that display haha. I thought it was really cool in the Zion battle when the first hundred or so sentinels came and got destroyed, and then they all just poured in and crashed the place. And as a last comment, I think the best acting goes to Agent Smith and Bain... I thought it was amazing how the guy who played Bain got the acting down on how to be like Agent Smith.
Cheers,

| Was horribly disappointed in how they did us on this. They could have combined Reloaded and Revolutions to make one kick ass movie. Instead we got two sub-par movies to only leave us hanging yet again for another to get more money. It was poor planning and the critics pummeling it and the fact the news is pouring out fast on the movie itself is killing it at the box office. It barely beat Elf for an opening weekend, LOL. Maybe it wont suck as bad if you watch it a second time. /shrug |

That is still too vague! How does it channel it through himself? This is the real world with laws and physics were talking about. Even if hes got the signal for the sent to shut down, it has to somehow get from his head to the sentinel right?
It can't just FLY over the air, it has to be transmitted by radio signals or a direct connection or some such thing.
Real world people! This is killing me!!!!!!!1 |

that's exactly the problem, you're trying to evaluate this so-called 'real world' through your own eyes, through your very limited human knowledge, forgetting that that there might be things, laws, energies 'out there' that no one can imagine even in the most bizarre sci-fi books.
i understand that you have to have a reason for everything to work, but sometimes you just have to accept things for what they are.
and don't forget, it's just a movie, so some things might not completely make sense, although, IMO, this is not the case. |

aight...i saw it today...story & fx okay...the ending seems to simple yet it is so complicated.
science fiction is supposed to let people imagine, not predict the future (or something else).
and i think the Matrix Episodes have done that very well, as it does not "feed" us with clear thoughts. there's is still space for interpretation and that makes it so fascinating.
anyway, i finally gotta try that superman thing.
lemme go to the window :)

Now that I've watched the entire trilogy, I've still got a few questions left.
Anyone care to take a stab at explaining what this meant philosophically (From The Matrix: Reloaded):
Trinity: You told me never to get on the freeway. You said it was suicide.
Morpheus: Then let us hope that I was wrong.
I can't seem to understand if it's JUST a conversation, or if it's got some hidden meaning behind it. |
You know somethin', I actually thought about this over lunch. If you want to take this symbolically, I suppose you could say the freeway is somewhat analogous to the Internet.
Not much to think about really - what's another name for freeway? Yep, the Highway. And what do they call the Internet? Yep, the Superhighway. So I guess if they get onto the superhighway, their personal "code" is freely revealed much more easier than say if they were in a building or so forth. And what do programmers fear about their codes going onto the Internet? - They can be revealed for all to see, just like Morpheus and Trinity can be revealed to the Agents who help run the Matrix (so to speak).
How's that? Do I get a cookie? |
