The best part of the movie is that it kept you guessing through out. Also realize that with a movie of this caliber you need to look deeper than face value. There is symbolism, and so much you can look into. I was very happy with the turn out. Yes it did leave some questions hanging, but if everything were to be answered... the movie would be 4-9 hours long. You take care of the main plot and then resolve it.
And besides... with a movie series that broke new grounds revolutionizing the whole industry... how can you expect anything to top the first one?? Nothing will ever be able to top it, but the third one was amazing. I will say that much. |
WHHHAATTT SYMBOLIISM????? I kept looking for a DEEPER meaning to ANYTHING but I couldn't find jack ! And I did keep guessing all throughout HOPING to find some allusions to anything! But I got the same feeling I got out revolutions as I did out of T3. Mindless entertainment with cool special effects yet very little to really think about/contemplate. |

What the is this ?
From www.thematrix.com
For those wondering... black cats continue to crisscross our servers. Where? There, yes, right there...
A witches brew of hex is in the pot and being stirred. For those who have tamed 8 bit, and then 32 bit encryption here at the site, what might be next?

Its amazing to see how many idiots there are complaining about this... I think this movie was brilliant, simply brilliant.
I am warning those who will watch this, do not read any further than this point or else this will spoil it for you.
You simple minded rejects deject the movie because it makes you think. The movie was made to enjoy and to ponder. The last scene was beautiful, for those that have a mind and can understand what happened - for those that didnt, let me fill you in on this because all of you missed the point, especially if you think that Neo died because he didnt. If you can remember he was laying and as the machine was transporting his body, we saw what he was seeing. Next the end of the fight, at first it was nearly impossible to understand why Smith just blew up like that - the last scene helped to understand it better. The Architect was the good side of the matrix, keep order, the Oracle was put there to cause disorder - hence order + disorder = balence... Neo was the order and Smith was the disorder.. If one goes the other has to go to keep balence - you guys should have payed close attention to the earings that the Oracle was wearing, they happened to be Yin Yang a symbol of balence between good and evil. Also, when Neo went to go see the Oracle she told him that Smith was Neo's other half, the opposite of what Neo was, whatever Neo wasnt - Smith was. Some of this might make sence, some of it wont - I still need to see it again to understand this more clearly.
"Will Neo be back?"
"I suppose so."
Honestly, #4? Why? |

Yes yes, this was all realised ... the anti-christ vs. christ. When they merged, they cancelled each other out ... Everything that has a beginning has an end, etc., etc., etc. The fact of the matter remains that the movie was only hollywood skin deep. I was expecting much much more with the excellent biblical allusions and asimov type allusions from teh first matrix. In the end it was only enterertainment rather than a thought provoking work. |

nah he's got a good point.
after seeing the movie i was prety ambivilant towards it.
yes the acting was . i laughed quite a few times. there was way too much fighting. which is cool eye candy to watch, but isn't going to make a movie good. I wish they woulda sat down and talked more about the philsophical stuff behind it instead of just going and blowing up all the time.
or maybe i just didn't see the stuff i was supposed to see.
anyway, overall i was pretty let down by the movie, altho i really wasn't expecting too much as i wasn't too obsessed with the first two. |

i enjoyed it a lot. The ending was good because it was an actual ending; not some stupid symbolic-bull that most of you expected. God...some of you people raise your expectations way too high. The first one introduced all the ideas, and the follow-ups only built on them and explained them where they should. What the were you expecting? What kind of a ing ending would it be if throughout the whole movie we'd be getting the same treatment we got in part one with non-stop allusions, biblical references and all that bull. And honestly, this ending is way better than any of the "theories" that those no-life geeks came up with who watched Matrix way too many times.
If it was a matrix-within a matrix then I would honestly walk out because they would in no way go on to explain that in 2 hours.
Why was Neo able to stop the Sentinels? Because his power goes beyond the Matrix and it leads him to the Source. Use your goddamn imagination for once instead of always waiting for everything to be drawn out for you. Not everything is explained in this world, so why do you expect it from movies. Sure its not the greatest movie out there, but it was a good ending to a good story. Nothing far-out, philosophical. It's too bad you guys didn't like it...but oh well. Your loss, not mine.
Montie: that theory, although interesting, has holes in it as well. And honestly, I think it would be just taking it way too far if throughout the series, they're cramming into you that "Neo is supposed to save humanity" and then all of the sudden in the last 15 minutes, we're told that they guy we hated all along is the one we're supposed to be cheering for. That'd just be ed up. |

The ending was as close as perfect as possible. All the answers that matter are there.
1. The question of determinism vs free will, which is the whole dilemma in the three movies is given an answer (not that there will ever be a correct answer, the directors give their answer)
2. The greatest war book ever written is probably the Iliad, an as such the matrix trilogy does not focuses neither at the end or the beggining, but at the moment of the war greatest hero coming into action, and what it represents.
3. It is not a happy ending. It a truce between both sides. Not a definitive victory of one side over the next. The computers lose easily replaceble machines. Zion loses a large chunk of its population (ships, robo-armor things, infantry, they are all killed) that are not easily replaced and humans remain being the weak side.
4.Will neo come back? or will the one come back? I think the moviegives more of a buddhist approach to life than western. The one will come again, and go again, forever.. (this last claim is me just guessing)
there are plenty of more stuff. Also, by not finishing the war completly, the matrix avoids being any other cliche action movie in which the good side is victorius over the far stronger evil empire. |
