so? we were swept by the pirates... that doesnt mean . it's APRIL. did you forget that the detroit tigers (who lost over 110 games last year) swept the blue jays (who have, among others, roy halladay, carlos delgado, and vernon wells)? april really means nothing. if april showed what happened the rest of the season, then the yankees are paying 30 million dollars for two players that are batting .235 and .190... we dont have reyes yet (i still believe he is the spark that makes this team tick. hopefully he doesnt spark himself back onto the DL) and floyd is still hurt. i honestly believe that come july, we'll make a move for beltran or magglio (more likely magglio because i dont see the white sox doing THAT great, though i could be wrong). if we get a big outfielder like that, we'll be right up there.

heh detroit's showing signs cuz they made some pretty smart moves this offseason. their 119 loss team nowhere near resembles this year's squad of tigers.
i think mets fans have been trained to expect the worst after 3 years of futility. i couldn't believe what i read when art howe say something like... "i expect 3 game losing streaks during the season, i didn't expect it this early." what a ing defeatist attitude. how about NO 3 game losing streaks, jackass? |
