| cameron got 3 hits, 2 rbi. matsui got 3 hits. and FINALLY! phillips got 2 hits, 2 rbi! thank god we won today... because tomorrow bonds is in the lineup :nervous: most AL teams are lucky cause they don't have to face him. if only he was on a team like the royals. SUCKY pitching. so the other team would jump out to a big lead and wouldnt be scared to pitch to bonds. art howe said in the daily news "it really is a shame that we'll never know how good bonds really is because no one pitches to him." so true... could you imagine if he got to see pitches. i mean... florida intentionally walked him 4 god damn times. that is ridiculous. peter gammons said there should be a one intentional walk per player per game rule. only flaw would be what happens when they pitch around a player? theres really nothing you could do except walk him or watch him get a hit. :toothless greatest hitter of the last 30 years... hands down. anything before that can be argued, but i still think he's up there. top 10 of all time. |

| last night was a good night. went to the mets game to hopefully see barry bonds play a game. looks like next year will be the last chance for me to do so in person. i DID get to see mike piazza bomb his 352nd homerun as catcher, thus setting the record for the position. it was a historic night :) also wandered around the stadium during the rain delay. it was well worth the stay to see the mets put up the 6-spot in the 8th inning (with 2 outs!!!). i got home really tired. |

you lucky ******! i was saying to my brother while watching it 'don't you wish you could be at a game where sometihng great like that happened? even if it was the other team, like someone's 3,000th hit or something.' i want to be at a game where the crowd gives a standing ovation to a player and they get a curtain call. and yay to the mets actually finding their bats the last 2 games!
but today... :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: bonds is in the lineup! AHHHH... and yes, i will, no matter what, make it to a game next year to see bonds. in his last game at shea. |
