well... i spoke too soon. turns out the biggest piece to the mets puzzle, Jose Reyes, reinjured himself in a minor league game today. no idea how serious it is... but this kid is just doomed.

record plz?

thats cause our gm made some bad moves. we dumped all of those problems. and do you actually find joy in watching a team filled with overpriced veterans, rather than a young energetic team? the yankees arent a 'team.' they are just a conglomerate of all stars. the red sox are the definition of a team. a few great players here and there (manny, nomar, pedro, schilling) with a ton of role players and good personality-type guys. that was the yankees of the 90's. not anymore. they are turning into the 80's yankees. and they were horrible then.

you dont think the ego's of guys like jeter, sheffield, a-rod, lofton, etc will have a bad impact on the team? there was an aritcle saying something i thought was really interesting. lets say its late in the season, giambi and arod are tied with the lead in homeruns. runner on second 1 out, arod at the plate. you dont think arod will swing for the fences? rather than just try to get the bat on the ball and go the other way to try and score the runner, possibly setting the table for giambi? they just are not a good mix at all...

two baseball games in april for me, that's a record for earliest i've ever gone to the ballpark. one mets game (loss against the pirates) and one yankees (mulder vs contreras last night). i am a HUGE fan of 2$ / 5$ games at any stadium :)
sandstorm03
i used to go to mad games, like 25 a year

on the real, we should really get together and go to a game sometime during the summer. shea is insanely cheap and there's always seats available. i'd go to a yankee game as well if they were playing a team i could root for. angels (vlad's my fav player), royals, a's, jays...

So after getting done tonight, we decided to measure the lawn, just to see how big it really was front to back. 150+ yards. :eyes: Damn that took forever!
