Transfer News:
Juventus have approached Inter Milan for the services of Nicolas Burdisso. Inter seem to want to do a swap deal of Camorenesi for him. They want cover for Figo. I hope this is not true I hate Mauro and hope he s out of Italy in general to Lyon or Bayern.
Our 2 most annoying players Carini & Choutos the 2 that we always have in friendlies til the last day of the transfer market where someone loans them seem to be on their way out...again on loan :whip: Choutos seems to be favouring QPR over a move back home to AEK or Panathinaikos. Carini may move to Zaragoza on loan (Carini preformed well last year in spot starts so if he does well again this year we may have to give him a shot he is signed til 2008 I think).
Also joining Carini maybe Cesar on loan @ Zaragoza. Ok so 1 Mancini friend out of there :)
Martins apparently is in Newcastle as I type.....
Juve set to appeal again this may delay the Serie A even more. Tribunal's in Brescia may appeal the sentencing of all 4 of the Calciopoli teams too. We may not see Serie A Football until October!!:haha: :haha: The move of Juve to appeal again as they really have no shot has angered many as it effects the fringe clubs the most as they will have to carry saleries without any income especially since friendlies are hard to come by for them |

Martins told the BBC a deal with Newcastle is 80% done and hopes it'll be concluded in the next couple of days. There is far more space behind English defences than Italian defences, I think he could be a big success in England. Henry was a different player when he left Serie A for the Premier League, English teams attack more, their defences hold a higher line and this leaves much more room to get behind the defence. In Italy, defenders are terrified of anyone getting in behind them, this is why big strikers who are good in the air like Adriano, Vieri, Toni, Lucarelli etc are more likely to succeed. Martins has done far better for Inter when he has played in the Champions League, because there is more space for him. In England he'll get that kind of space all the time.
Looks like Newcastle will be selling Boumsong to Juventus for anything between £2.5m and £4.5m (depending on which newspapers you believe). He's said to be in Turin now discussing terms. |

| you can have him I agree with what you say on his chances becoming a star lie only in England. He is just not good enough for us. |

BREAKING NEWS on Sky Sports:
Newcastle agree £10m fee with Inter for Obafemi Martins.
Hopefully this one will be wrapped up tomorrow, we just have to agree terms with the player but he's already indicated that he wants to come here. Valencia dropped out of the race and signed Tavano from Empoli instead.
I can understand why Inter fans aren't bothered, when you have Adriano, Crespo, Ibrahimovic, Cruz and Recoba. There is no place for Martins there and he needs to move club if he is to realise his potential. At Newcastle he will play every week in a league much more suited to him, and with players like Duff, Emre, Parker, Solano, Luque or Dyer behind him he will get plenty of chances. He will already know Emre from Inter and Babayaro from the Nigeria squad.
Owen will return next year, although I'm not sure if Owen and Martins could work. What do you think?
It seems likely that he'll make his debut on Sunday against Aston Villa, as Newcastle already has the most injuries in the Premiership! |

We really dont have any strikers like Owen closest would be Cruz and its really far off. He really never worked with any of our strikers to be honest. He was a streaky player for us but for sure never worked with Adriano and probably played his best with Vieri and Crespo but still was far from impressive.
I think Owen may work though. I cant get a read on the guy. Right now he is just fast his lack of finishing and overall technique has stymied him here. Also I seriously doubt our mid-field was the problem with this guy. You will see first hand in a few days he needs strong training for sure. Inter ed up by brining him into the first team so early. Roma currently have a Obafemi Martins double and they are slowly bringing him in unlike Inter who at the time needed him to be put in the first team.
Thus i still say he has the technique of a 17 year old. |

bro I know...became a big fan of his after that champs league semifinal match vs Milan where we looked dead and playing with no urgency even though we weere on the brink of elimanation and he got subbed in for that piece of Crespo and scored a goal and did his flips
He was basicly that, a great sub, last year he was thrown in there and asked to do more than he can, plus he has a problem that he falls down too much now.
This is still my fave pic of him...memories :)
