But with producing trance...you barley have to do anything. The computer does EVERYTHING for you but create the leads

Except the more technical people who create there own sounds

Compare live concerts on actual instruments compared to live concerts on computers and a midi keyboard and some rackmount stuff.

You can add as many real instruments as you want untill the worlds metal or whatever the hell they are made of runs out. On a computer you can only put a certian amount of instruments in the song and a certian amount of effects in the song untill your cpu usage is 100%

What happened if the worlds power just went out. You couldn't produce trance, but you could still use instruments ;)
krivi
but if world power off,who would needs to play instruments?

somebody said that trance is not music it's "feel"
you can not looking at trance from perspective of classical music.

>> just get a better CPU, power is increasing each day. By the way, unless if you have 32 hands, you cant play more than one real instrument decently at the time.

You can still play in instrument with ur feet & nose :D

If you lined up like 5000 people had them all play a piece, it would be more than a processor could handle. Times that by 4 for quad opteron 858 processors and get 20000 intruments.

Plus...the brain is more powerful than a computer...atm at least

;)
RIPassion
This is ridiculous.

"You could have much more than 100% cpu usage with a 5000 man band, dehh"

This is the same way I would have argued as an 8 year old. Think about how impractical you're being.

The point of music, for me, would be... the sound. Sound comes in all shapes and sizes, and just because it's coming from somewhere different than you're accustomed to by no means makes it obselete. Be open to any style of music, and stop being so elitest.

depends whose ;)

anyway i don't see how we can compare a brain and a computer.

There are some really REALLY dip arguments coming out here.

It doesn't matter what the you compose on.

Is there really any difference between you playing the notes on a real instrument or the computer playing them on a synth?

Its all a means to an end.

You are talking through your arse !

Why don't you wow us all by producing a monster trance track that will get everyone loving the genre again? I mean if its really that easy then it should be a piece of cake...shouldnt it ?...

Now, If I had a nice jazz band with some nice sax players and good trumpets, thats the kind of stuff that gives me goosebumps listening to :D

I don't think producing music fully on a computer is good enough to call your self a "musician" if thats all you make it on...if you actually do play instruments and use certian *real* instruments for making a song then I'd say youc an call yourself a musician

I play trumpet myself :D

LOL...

I guess you just want to provocate some of the producer TAs here.
In fact, you don't know what you're talking about.
BTW, I don't get any goosebumps listening to a nice jazz band :D

Just take your trumpet and put it into where the sun never shines
;)

Oh my God, I can't believe he actually said that. The little faith left I had in humanity is now gone. Anyway, I think people should keep doing trance. I mean, I do it because I have fun and it relaxes me. I do it so I can exceed my own standard, not to make money. People should do it for the fun and love of it...everything else good will come when it's time.
