People evolve, you can't stay into one genre forever, it's just how life goes.

Just because 2 producers throws it in doesn't mean the whole genre is dying.
There are a lot new talented guys taking over from the ones quitting so I highly doubt trance will die.

When it comes to producing, I think it's really narrowminded to blame the downfall trance have had in popularity the last year on one specific program or one specific radioshow. Again, it's just how life goes. Things never stay the same, things evolve.

I think people have had enough of the standard-trance. So, people want something else, but if a producer makes something else it isn't trance anymore..

How about instead of ignorantly scapegoating, you target your frustrations at the true problem? Faster computers, innovations in software, and broadband internet make it easy for anybody to set up a fully functional "studio" in a few hours. Trance, requiring no knowledge of how to play an instrument and no singing ability, is a very easy genre to start with. The result of all of this is unbelievable saturation of the market for trance. There are so many people who claim to be producers but dont take the time to master their craft and the result is a genre flooded with mediocre tracks. This has NOTHING to do with Reason alone, FL Studio, Cubase, and Logic are just as guilty. The point is, with skill you can make a banging track in anything, without it you'll have the same flat, boring trance even if you've got Armin's studio. So stop making a fool of yourself.

a fair bit of that is very true. but u say trance is easy to get into and im not desputing that ur absolutly right there. That doesnt bring up the fact that despite it being easy to get into that its very hard to master. wot i mean is the fact that hundreds of people try their hand at it but then theres plenty of around, and maybe the worse fact of that is even some of the people who are utter e get signed, and that includes these forums. Im not gonna name names but there are some people off this forum who have been signed and their productions leave a lot to be desired. I think u made the point earlier Brandon that its the fault of the labels and yes u were 100% right there :)

Yeah, trance is very hard to master, and its not something that a lot of people take seriously nowadays, on the behalf of the labels and the producers. There is so many bad tracks that get shipped off to vinyl on a daily basis and it floods the market with bad tracks. You have to dig around to find gems now, so people think trance is dying due to the scarcity of great tracks.

your right. the scarcity of tracks is down to the fact that there is just so many tracks out these days. back in 99 "the trance at its best period" certainly had some amazing tracks. People worry these days because tbey feel like theres not as many good tracks days but thats simple not true. Because there so many tracks these days then by the laws of averages the percentage of very good tracks goes down and that gives the impression there are less good tracks with imo is totally true. A lot of people just seem to not dig deep enuff of them.

As long as tiesto, ferry, pvd and armin stay in the trance scene, i dont mind, they are the people who keep the scene alive... Imagine a world where those guys weren't born, trance would not excist... At some point we started loving the music because one of these guys showed up.

you gotta be kidding me? Trance existed long before Ferry, Armin and Tiesto. I've enjoyed trance long before I heard of any of those dutch guys.
Imo trance even sounded better before they showed up.

Allright doods, does anyone agree with me that Trance maybe hasn't changed...that possibley "you"...(or whoever).....has changed....I mean people's tastes change, and that is due to evolution....so ya, happens:sadgreen: but , GOOD QUALITY TRANCE can not/will not, ever DIE. And that is true, we can shoot the about 97-00 trance being the best........blah blah......yes, 'n "a", wicked beats back then, but christ some of you sound as bad as my parents do,trying to talk smack to me about the 70's classic rock era.....give me a break, "just be" (as the man says) I think the knew trance is doing just nifty, if u dont like it..."bye bye".........find something else to enjoy, and most certainly leave the boards, cause jesus, none of us need to hear about the music that we wake up to and listen to at least 12 hours a day. Im not trying to sound like a prick here, but im so tyred of coming on here and reading....."is trance dying"..."omg' BLAH , go out to club/venues and rock out to it and or any other EDM for that matter cause jesus, your either a problem or a part of the solution. I know that i have liked trance and various EDM for 7 years now, and I was around for the "golden era" as they say, but christ the phuture is now, so leave it be....Trance will do just god danm dandy no matter what any of you say about it!.:) So in turn er up a couple notches and ing give er:cool:

Subtle
a simple track like Storm - Storm owns new trance.. explanation.. none!

Producing is Boring...especially trance

Now, If I had a nice jazz band with some nice sax players and good trumpets, thats the kind of stuff that gives me goosebumps listening to :D

I don't think producing music fully on a computer is good enough to call your self a "musician" if thats all you make it on...if you actually do play instruments and use certian *real* instruments for making a song then I'd say youc an call yourself a musician

I play trumpet myself :D
