The #1 DJ In the World

Hey there, kids. Ishkur here. (yeah, that music guide guy)
If there's one thing I noticed lately, it's the increasing tendency for websites and magazines to release frequent "top 100 DJ" lists, and for awhile considered doing my own. But that would just be too much work, and so rather than just spew out an annoying bunch of names in an order no one would ever agree with, I decided to just focus on the spot that matters most: #1.
Who is the best DJ in the world? I sat down, went through mountains of sets, read reviews, releases, articles and web forums, and judged the best DJs in criteria such as showmanship, technical proficiency, track selection, originality, and, of course, the ability to get you off your seat and onto the dancefloor.
After several days pouring over notes, I finally found him. The guy I now call the Best DJ in the World, as proclaimed by the world's snarkiest scenester:

The answer will probably surprise you. |

Mmmmm...I smell a sell out, now get the hell out.
Heh.
So that covers DI and TA, any other places you're posting who you think is the best DJ? Discogs maybe? But then most of them would probably come up with 10 better DJ's off the top of their heads.
Who is Z-Trip and why is he good? Go read www.ishkur.com you imbecile. |

yes i know hes the bloke who made the new version of the frankie bones 'love, peace, unity' speech.
it would have been nice if he would have told us in his post instead of posting a link so he can get traffic to his site. |

Muckluck, you're both right and wrong.
It's not much of a sell-out when I do it willingly. Just what principles am I compromising here? ...hehe.
(Jakec, if I could post the inline Flash into this thread, I would have done it already. But I can't. That's why I link. So you can HEAR why he's #1) |

Okay you're not an imbecile. You just don't like to read much. I apologize.
Anyway, I suggest listening to "Uneasy Listening" at least. It's good. But all of the others i've downloaded from there are either poorly recorded or are mostly Rap/Hip-Hop, or both. Not as varied. |

Well this hasn't gone half as bad as expected so far, but then it's nowhere near TA's peak hours. Can't wait 'till then.
So what makes Z-Trip different or better than other mashup DJ's like Dangermouse for example. |

| the best DJ is the one who turns up at a party and makes every single person happy and glad they went. It doesn't matter how technically gifted they are or what style they play, they're up there to entertain and people should be happy when they do. |
