but i think martz was let go, because of health issues, rather than his performance .. i don't want to sound like some kind of mike martz lover, but i think their problem is their defense . they need a legit def coordinator . they havent been the same since lovie smith left for the bears . i hear *cough cough* gregg williams *cough cough* is available .. he's def coordinator with the redskins . |
I like Mike and Ike's but especially the Jolly Joes.
No, I read the St. Louis papers everyday, he was let go because there was a ton of friction between him and the Rams upper management (Pres John Shaw). It was his decision to hire his friend Larry Marmie (was with Arizona Cardinals before) as defensive coordinator to replace Lovie Smith. So he is responsible for the defense, he wasn't just the offensive coordinator. Plus, he burned through time outs and challenges like they were kleenex. He usually had horrible time management. His over reluctance on the pass led to their Super Bowl demise against New England. Marshall was at his peak then and had just torn up Philly the week before. Then the Carolina playoff debacle when he got conservative at the wrong time.
And now the Rams are bad because he drafted a bunch of complete busts, like 3 first round DT's who just suck.
They need a guy like Gregg Williams!! Most Rams fans I know want him pretty badly. Seems like a great fit. I've heard he's very loyal to Joe Gibbs though so we'll see (possibly waits a year and then takes over for Gibbs). Rams just want a defensive minded disciplinarian coach. |

jim haslett is the latest to get donald trumped ...
i am afraid jeff fisher could get the same , since the titans havent been doing much as of late . great coach .
another name that has been surfacing a little big is quarterbacks coach (john hufnagel .. forgot his name) .. is testing .. not good news for the pats coming into the playoffs .. |

me and my big mouth ..
damn .
well a good candidate i know the fans will like for the next saints coach is ron zook . yeah yeah he got shafted out of florida because of the urban meyer experience, but i think he is a good coach that can lead the saints somewhere .. news around is that no one wants to touch the saints because of it's peanut size payroll, and condition right now, mainly the superdome .
i think the saints have started to fall ever since mike mularky and ron zook left the saints . when they were around, at least there was some consistency on the team. |

He'll remain as a Titan. TN has the youngest team, and they'll pick high in the draft. The solution is make a solid team and be patient. |

Yup. That is what Id love to see, him taking over, knowing the system, and a defensive minded coach. |

| Bears defensive Coordinator Ron rivera is requested by rams to interview for their head coaching job...this would be an interesting coaching prospect....shame they didn't give it to Lovie years ago |
