well good thing i'm going to Greece at the end of this month instead of Spain! :p

I'll make a wild guess here and say that one or both of you will have engaged in sexual activity with another female, whether one-on-one or in a threesome+ situation before you marry.

Remember this. It's wild.

i've hooked up with girls before, threesomes are overrated, and i have no desire to engage in sexual activity with anyone besides my bf.

Ohhh crikey. So much I disagree with in here, mostly espoused by straight people, but who can fault them? I'm not offended, unlike a lot of gay people would be. I've learned to let it roll off my back as best I can... I'd still like to address some stuff I've seen posted, though.

How many gay people have posted on this thread so far? It certainly doesnt seem like many... perhaps figured it wasnt worth it from this thread's title . Basically, I think homosexuality is approximately half nature, half nurture. I consider myself gay, and I've felt an attraction to individuals of my own gender at least since I hit puberty, if not before. While I might be able to pull off a hetero relationship, I imagine it would make me uncomfortable and I'd probably be with chicks on the side anyway.

I wholly reject the idea of a singular "gay gene". I think it's ridiculous to try and pin it down to something so precise when we know it's a complex behavior. Well, my experience has taught me it is, at least.

Theres a reason why you began to feel that you were gay when you hit puberty. Studies have shown abnormal sizes of the hypothalamus in homosexual people, this area controls the sex interests of the person. And since youre hormones are beginning to really kick in during puberty, this is when you find out what your sexual interests are.

Again its all speculation, but these experiments have been conducted.

I see your point, but then surely that would make the word 'unnatural' completely redundant.
I mean unnatural as the opposite of natural, which is sex between the opposite genders.

What do dolphins and apes have to do with anything? In my opinion homosexuality goes against the most basic 'rules' programmed into any living organism. That's just my view of course, you are free to think what you like.

Natural = "Conforming to the usual or ordinary course of nature".

Given that Heterosexuality is the ordinary case of nature, homosexuality is a deviation from this, and is therefore unnatural. And if dolphins, apes and humans are the only species that practice homosexuality, well I think that leaves millions of other species that do not.

Youre just so confused with whats morally right and whats the norm in society. Who says anything is unnatural, we were given an anus, and we were given a penis. Their uses are obvious, but who says having anal sex is wrong. Now you say its against nature? Who says? Dophins, monkeys and dogs, as far as people here have seen or heard, practice it, who says other species doesnt partake? So if these animals do it, how could it be against nature? Rules? Who's rules? The bibles? Societies? Yours? Youre just mixing them all together and calling this the norm. How do you know that the organisms arent programmed to have same sex intercourse to control population? Many other organisms dont need to practice homo or heterosexuality because they are asexual.

or because i said the word "fag" a lot and was generally crude (as a joke) in my original post?

The former.

And only because adults who choose never to have children serve just as little purpose, as such the thread is rather pointless.

We human's no longer abide by what nature 'intends', hell, we continually adapt our surroundings to suit us, whereas pretty much any other living thing adapts to it's surroundings.

Human's by definition are unnatural, only fitting wouldn't you say? ;)

Yes, well, the odds are that you will not be with your BF for a relatively long period of time, and once you are no longer with him, several things you said start to come into play in support of what I said, such as...

quote:
i'm kind of the same way... i find women very physically attractive, sometimes even moreso than men, but i can't get sexually aroused by someone unless there's some sort of psychological/mental stimulation and i've never felt that with a female. i've been very physically attracted to girls but that's all it was. i think if i was single and i did meet a girl who stimulated me physically *and* mentally, i'd probably be all about it.

Like I said, I make a wild guess and say it will happen in the future if it has not already. That's all it is, a wild guess, right? ;)

Now I'm disappointed in you. Humans are unnatural, that's just obserd as is the argument that we do not abide by what nature intends. Our nature is to adapt our surroundings therefore by modifying our environment to suit us we are in fact abiding by our nature. All animals are controled by their nature and can only do what that nature allows. Just because we have different abilities then any other creature does not make us any less natural, nor does it make us apart from or superior to the "natural" world.
