Now I'm disappointed in you. Humans are unnatural, that's just obserd as is the argument that we do not abide by what nature intends. Our nature is to adapt our surroundings therefore by modifying our environment to suit us we are in fact abiding by our nature. All animals are controled by their nature and can only do what that nature allows. Just because we have different abilities then any other creature does not make us any less natural, nor does it make us apart from or superior to the "natural" world. |
That line was tongue in cheek dude ;)
That said though, that would mean that anything that ever happens is natural... because it happens. |

Not really, my argument deals with the ability to do something not the result. Humans have developed the ability to build structures out of stone. This ability is a derivative of our nature which has allowed us to use our front legs as more dexterous limbs and our front feet to grasp and manipulate objects as well as our brain to pass knowledge on to succeeding generations so that they may learn it and expand it until such point as we were able to construct the first stone building. The ability to create a structure out of stone then is natural, the building of the structure itself can be argued to be natural as it is simply the exercising of our ability.... the building on the otherhand is something that has been artificially created as it was built by a force external to itself. |

You put something out of the reach of a monkey... give him some sticks and stones... he will make something happen.
For the most part, things happen out of necessity. |

i'm still not entirely sure that i believe 2 females can have "sex"... i mean i think they can, but i think it's more than physical. sure they can love up on each other and use sex toys and stuff like that, but i guess i just have a very specific idea in my mind of what "sex" is, and i've only had that with men. if i was in a relationship with a woman and i was in love with her, i would guess that what i feel with her when we engage in sexual activity would be sex, if not to the rest of the world then at least to us. what i've done with girls i would consider fooling around, not sex. see... i'd make a terrible lesbian.

maybe that's your idea of relationships from your perspective, but i wouldn't be with someone unless i was very serious about them. i'm 22, which is still pretty young, but i've had a lot of experience with relationships and i honestly feel that i know what i want. i love my boyfriend very much, and i have a very optimistic idea of how things will progress with our relationship.
| quote: | | Like I said, I make a wild guess and say it will happen in the future if it has not already. That's all it is, a wild guess, right? ;) |
hey, it has happened... i've done my share of experimenting, i have actively pursued emotional and physical relationships with women and nothing ever developed. i am not going out of my way to meet people, men or women, who i would be emotionally attracted to. not to get all mushy but i am rly rly srsly in love with my boyfriend... and he gives me all the wild pleasure i need.
but i'd still make girl babies with Lis if our boyfriends didn't kill us :stongue:

The former.
And only because adults who choose never to have children serve just as little purpose, as such the thread is rather pointless.

hey that's actually a very good point.
and about the whole lesbian thing...the first time i ever fooled around was with my best friend in middle school (a girl). it went on for almost a whole school year and she had this weird control over me. i was a really good friend to her, but she wasn't really the greatest friend to me sort of thing. anyway we stayed friends all throughout high school and she introduced me to rolling and other drugs n my senior year and we kissed once while rolling, but that was it.
oh yea and this other cool chick nikki from one of my classes came out with us one night (me and my best friend) and she rolled with us and slept at my house later. when we got back to my place, i was coming down and wanted to sleep, but she was peeking and begged me to make out with her cuz she "likes to make out while blowing up". it took her 10 minutes to convince me, and i finally agreed just to shut her up and get it over with. so i just laid there while she like kissed me and felt me up and it was really awkward for me actually. she moved the following weekend and tried to maintain contact with me but i never returned her calls.
so if anything, i feel like i was somewhat pressured by those 2...it was never me being the aggressor. i just sort of went with the flow because believe it or not, i wasn't always as outspoken and "take no crap" as i am now. i used to be pretty reserved and non-confrontational. i guess that comes with confidence as you grow up. i was pretty insecure in highschool, but who wasn't? |

Fundi meaning fundamentalist..... I'm not sure I fit that description. While I am a Roman Catholic I do see many faults in their official theology and really in the theology of all orgainized religions. My actual beliefs are more a kin to a reconciliation of numerous religious and cecular philosopies and accumulated knowledge. |

Sure, I could play the role. Should I start hateing homosexuals now or wait..... my priest would likely prefer the former.... fyi, don't debate gay marriage with a priest once you defeat them they get all scared and confused (and in my case... your wife and very catholic in-laws won't be impressed by your argumentative skills). |
