| race, haven't seen a single pass, why won't they drop this track for once |

They just need to remove some of the chicanes. Variante Alta is totally redundant. As is the Villeneuve-chicane.
Really disappointed with the race as well. We've only seen two good drives today, and those came from Alonso and Webber. Very mediocre performances by the other drivers. |

I've been saying exactly the same for the past ten years, i've never seen a good race at San Marino!
Strong rumours of it being scrapped next year. Though it's getting a £10 million overhaul on the pits with new stadiums and pit lane istelf. And losing the final chicane, so... |

Fernando Alonso

At a normal circuit, we could have won but this is Imola where overtaking is almost impossible |
Kimi Raikonnen

and to overtake here at Imola is virtually impossible as we could see in the race today |
Michael Schumacher
| quote: |
As we saw last year, overtaking at this track it’s almost impossible |
Tonio Liuzzi
| quote: |
ut we couldn’t pass anyone as it is so difficult at this track. |
Klien

and with it being so hard to pass here, I lost a lot of time behind. |
And thats just from the after-race interviews this year.
I agree, San Marino has a lot of history, and had it not been knobbled in 95 (for obvious resons) it would have still been a great flowing track. But I think its nearing the end of its lifetime in F1. |

| Though it is actually a good track to drive on (I wouldn't know from experience but from f1 games it is one of the exciting tracks) however the overtaking issue is the main problem of this track. If they can alter the track for some overtaking situations then it should be good. |

It's frustrating as hell, i can't take Rivazza properly :whip:
I wish they had just removed Variante Alta alltogether (making Rivazza the passing spot) and would keep the final chicane.. i somehow like how the drivers have to ride over 3 kerbs in a row. |

Yep, exactely.
Although it would still be hard to overtake there, as Aque Minerali is quite a fast corner.
Removing the final chicane is a good idea though, because then there will be a much longer run-up to the first corner, (hopefully) creating some more overtaking opportunities.
And Imola was one of my favourite tracks in F1 games as well. Because of its tight and twisty nature, setting a fast time gives you a very good feeling. |

Nurburgring this weekend, as always on the version of the track of course. Unfortunately we won't have the chance to see the madman Yuji Ide on the race, as he has been replaced by the french Franck Montagny, who will make his F1 race debut at the Ring. Ide wasn't banned by the FIA neither flat out sacked by Aguri.. but replaced by Aguri on the advice of the FIA :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
Here's what Christian Klien had to say recently about the guy:
| quote: | | Sometimes he has really different lines to us. Maybe that's because they drive on the other side in Japan. |
