Montoya actually finished his first NASCAR race in third place. |
It was only the ARCA series race, but he did dominate and could have won had the team not brought him into the pits at odd times so that he would get used to running in traffic.
I can see him doing well in NassCAR so long as he comes to terms with being bumped around.
He will do well on the road courses for sure. |

| Montoya was nothing and is nothing...all he ever did in F1 was start fights with team mates, managers and other drivers. Acts tough and cocky when really he couldn't hack being outclassed by Raikkonen...It won't be long before he tears NASCAR apart with his tantrums and sooking. |

LOL very true, but isn't NASCAR the series where pit crews fight eachother and drivers throw their helmets at the guy who put them into the wall?
I think JPM and his hissyfits will fit right in. He's fighty.
Jaques Villeneuve, if the rumours of him signing for Roush are accurate, will get beat on and not be as fighty and end up sulking. |

| Michael Schumacher announced today something about his future in Ferrari's F1 team im not sure though...anyone know anything more? |

I think the press release is to happen sometime in the next week, but I'm not sure.
Rumour has it that Brawn has been linked to one of the UK based teams....
The next season or two will be a real test of the depth of the Ferrari team. Having Todt move up the corporate ladder, Brawn leaving and Martinelli going elsewhere....that's a huge hit for the team. I trust that the people replacing these guys have been getting that little extra bit of training or whatever, but still, these 3 people made Ferrari's success possible over the last 7 or 8 years. They gave Schu the best tactics & package available and left the rest to him. Everyone delivered.
Martinelli's engines alone went without failure on Schu's car for several full seasons! That's an amazing run of success.

MUNICH, Germany -- Alex Zanardi will return to Formula One next month in a test drive with BMW Sauber after losing his legs in a horrific crash five years ago.
Zanardi drove 41 races in Formula One, the last in 1999 with Williams. Despite twice winning the CART season tittle, his best finish in an F1 race was sixth place. He will drive the modified BMW-Sauber on Nov. 24-26 in Valencia, Spain.
"Of course, I know that I won't get a contract with the Formula One team," the 40-year-old Zanardi said. "However, having the chance to drive an F1 racer again is just incredible."
He has been driving for BMW in the World Touring Car Championship, winning twice.
Zanardi became a double amputee after his 2001 crash in Klettwitz during the American Memorial 500, a CART race.
"With an unprecedented show of will and dedication, he fought his way back into motor racing and now proves in the WTCC that he is able to win races at the highest level," BMW Motorsports director Mario Theissen said.
"It was rather a joke when he asked me at the beginning of the year if he could do an F1 test with us," Theissen added. "We will give him this chance now. The engineers made it possible. I cannot wait to watch his reaction after the test."
Zanardi returned to the German track 3½ years ago and drove 13 "ceremonial laps" in a modified car, reaching speeds of 195 mph before a CART race.

Nice to see Zanardi having this chance, his comeback after that awful crash was pretty amazing.
Zanardi's career has been quite strange:
1991: a couple odd races in F1 with Jordan and Minardi
1993: first full F1 season with Lotus, midfield team, his performances are average
1994: has a pretty big crash in Spa, resulting in injuries - this is actually what allowed Pedro Lamy into F1 (who ironically the following year would have a big crash and be replaced by someone else - exactly the same fate as Zanardi in Lotus)
mid 90s: doesn't comeback to F1 after the crash. instead goes to USA, to CART. looks superb and wins the championship.
1999: Williams are impressed with his CART performances and give him back an F1 ride. At the time they are a top team, but the car turns out bad, and Zanardi under performs really badly, awful season all-round for him
2000/01: comes back to CART (or was it IRL?). has that horrific crash where he loses both legs.
mid 2000s: astonishingly recovers to come back to racing. Goes into touring cars and his performances are quite good!
2006: comes back to F1 in a BMW test
Basically it's all about lots of comebacks and huge crashes. I really hope he isn't about to have another one. :nervous: |

^^^ Yeah, kudos to BMW for rewarding his awesome ETCC performance this season with a special ride in an F1 car.
It's a classy thing to do and it will be something he'll always remember.
Renault just let Carlos Sainz run an R25 at the Valencia round of the Formula Renault series. He was blown away by it.
