Jacques Villeneuve has launched a scathing attack on his former Formula One nemesis, Michael Schumacher.
In an interview, to be headlined as 'Jacques Attacks' on the cover of F1 Racing magazine next week, the axed BMW Sauber racer branded Schumacher - the seven time World Champion - as bland and a liar.
French-Canadian Villeneuve, 35, said: "I think the day he hangs up his helmet people will just forget him."
Referring to Senna, Prost and Mansell, Villeneuve added that 'those people attained a hero status that Michael never has and never will'.
Villeneuve and Schumacher's acrimony dates back to 1997, where at Jerez they collided at the climax of their championship duel.
"Michael simply isn't a great champion," Villeneuve continued, "because he's played too many dirty tricks and because he isn't a great human being."
Villeneuve, who resigned from the drivers' GPDA body after the infamous Rascasse affair at Monaco this year, also accuses Schumacher of being a 'liar'.
"He lies not only to fans but to his fellow drivers, too. He just stared in our eyes and lied. He thinks he's bigger than the sport, and when he retires, and no one really remembers him, that will become clear."

I can't stand Schumacher, but IMO Villeneuve says a lot of in the interview (read a little bit more of it). It's true that F1 doesn't end with Schumacher, only for a share of his fanboys, but a 7 time world champion is not going to be forgotten this soon, especially due to the controversy Villeneuve (rightfully) criticises!
His comparision with Senna is ridiculous as well, first he doesn't know the whole story since Senna didn't say what he was going to do before the race, second even if he did i can't imagine why it'd be more acceptable than what Schumacher have done.
IMO this all makes Villeneuve sound like a bad loser. It's nice that he speaks his mind, but his mind just isn't thinking right here. |

| Jacques is a whiney little Canadian. He really needs to stfu and look for a job now. Ive always believed he just got the help in his career from his late father. He is a no talent who always has something to say. He is one of those guys who has an oppinon and it shouldnt be heard as his op. is just a tirade about others and him just being pissed about his own career |

No talent? He's a world champion! And been damn fast the couple following seasons, he only started to suck about when he was paired with Button in BAR.
Of course being son of Gilles Villenueve helped his career enormously, but that doesn't tell the whole story. On the other hand I agree with you that he sounds very frustrated and biased on what he talks about. |

| Yeah, well...he does sound pretty frustrated about his career, and I agree that he's talented, but he is coming out with a CD soon, so things don't look too bad for him :gsmile: |

Screw the world championship.
The most interesting battle this year is the Mercedes safety car vs McLaren Mercedes of Kimi for the number of laps led. The Safety car had led more laps than Kimi up until last race where Kimi overtook it, but now the safety car is back in front. Who will prevail!?!?
good race too. |

HAHAHAHAHAHA
Kimi should leave Mercedes just for the car being so unready, fragile and "injury" prone.
Its getting ridiculous now :( |
