We unfortunately did not see him perform because we had to work in the morning.
I have to also mention that it is not the first time that he is late for performances in Montreal.

Me & my husband have fallowed Tiesto for years. We loved him when nobody knew about him. We have seen the transition of a man passionate about his art to a man who as sold to commercialism. In the last 2 years that we have seen him there as been an amazing decline. And It is one great disappointment when something like that happens to someone you truly value in your heart.

I pray that this will make him realised that he should go back to his first love MUSIC.

It is over for us. We will not go back to any of is events.

UNFORTUNATELY TIESTO YOU HAVE LOST YOUR CROWN.

It's is time for true talent to shine & for new blood to take over.

a little harsh....but i'd be real pissed to....

you regret things because of bad decisions by tiesto and the promoters but at the same time you say that you had to work in the morning, how is that even possible?

what kind of drugs are you on? cause I want some of it.

Max Graham - the star of the night and a gentlemen too. Had some good convo with him.

Honestly though guys, I'm pretty pissed that WE PAID Tiesto to arrive 2 hours late because he was getting his sucked downstairs, have him turn on the bass WAYYY TOO high and not notice because of his drunkeness and in general to just have a party for himself.

Okay. He's in high demand, but he;s a ing douchebag. Support DJs like Max Graham that carry themselves in a professional manner because thats what the scene needs. No unreliable S like that gangly crackhead.

STOP MAKING HIM RICH GUYS!!

haha ,you should have came to circus that nite , lots of room to dance and the best MUZIK ever!

Did most of us have a good time? Yes. Could we have had a much better time with 'scaled back' ticket sales? Hell yes!!

We may never know the true numbers as long as BeB/GK/Gillett make their money. Numbers can easily be manipulated. All I can say is that we got to the dancefloor by 11:15pm and it was already jammed.. and the lower level seats were filling up rapidly too. Either this was fueled by greed or by some massive brain cramp by the aforementioned ppl.

This tends to happen when Tiesto is booked as well (ie Circus 2005, BeB 2005) when the organisers tend to see $$$ rather than focus on whether or not the patrons are gonna have a good (and safe) time.

EDIT: I personally don't think Gillett would allow a fire hazard like that in his building.. he prolly just saw sheer numbers from Beb/GK and agreed to allow more ticket sales. Feel free to correct me here, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to say :p

well lets clear a couple of things up

guy is in brazil..so no party at his house.

tiesto landed at 7 after TWO private jet replacements and sitting in a private airport for hours and hours...promoters had five jet companies srambling to find a plane at 2am...then he got one, landed and came straight to the gig.

i was using ableton not pro tools...set was in no way premixed...you want to hear what dj's like sasha pvd and myself are doing with ableton you can go to my website and download my latest set...you'll hear lots more going on than just mixing one record into the next...which i frankly got kinda bored of doing after 15 years...anyway most people realise the power and creativity of ableton but there are always going to be the naysayers who don't get it...people said the same about cd's remember?

good time had by all...i slept right through time supper club but resolution was rockin...

montreal shows once again why its the best city on the planet to party in...and the reason i live here

happy new year all... :)

Malek, your blind optimism and defense of Tiesto is just getting kind of lame man. Yah, we get it, it was the plane and weather, it wasn't him. That's not the point. People are entitled to their opinions, and their own experiences for the night. You stay up there in the booths and enjoy yourself, and post about that. Don't belittle people because of the kind of experience they have. What kind of drug was she on because she had to work the next day? Completely non-sensical.

As for my review;
I think the decorations and lighting were better last year than this year. Also, there were a significantly larger number of people, but there were at all times places to sit and chill, and if you cared to look, enough places to find room to dance.
One funny (to me anyways) point; by around 3-4 am, if you walked out to the restrooms to get fresh air, then came back in...wow...made my eyes water. The pungent scent of e-farts was unmistakable and predominant :p One wonders at the amount of pills consumed that night.
Also, the power cuts in the early parts of the night...obviously not something people will be happy with.

Anyways, Second Sun pleasantly surprised me. The live performance was quite good. Victor Calderone and Max Graham put out some solid, solid, solid sets, and definitely owned the night. By around 6, and much to my expectations, it was obvious that Tiesto was going to be late. Danny Torrence was unimpressive. I can't say that he sucked, as that is not the case. There were nice transitions in there, and it was a solid, stable vibe. I'm just not a fan of using one slow, kettledrum base-beat, and working with it for a continuous 30 minutes. It could have been better. Anyways, I've heard better from him, but I guess I was just getting tired. At that point, seeing as it was close to 8, and "Tiesto Soon" was still being broadcast, it was time to leave. I expected to find a freaking blizzard outside, but nothing of the kind had happened. If DJ's and their managers are of the mentality to book two performances in one night, they should ensure to have some leeway in terms of transportation and so forth. Anyways, yee who defend, defend all you want. IMO, for a DJ of his stature, it is just not a good measure of professional conduct. Its milking a fast-drying cash cow.

Anyways, the overall night was definitely a 9.5/10. A solid and friendly vibe, good people, and good music (with few exceptions). A great way to bring in the New Year.

Max did you record that set? I thought it was rocking and would like to hear it again!!

did not hear that, everyone in the know was talking about plane delay. The promoters wouldn't be happy if Tiesto was deliberately being late, don't forget its the promoters who pay Tiesto not the other way around.

hahahha... do you think the promotors actually give a ?

after speaking with some of them it was MORE than clear to me that they don't. i asked the main guy to tell tiesto to turn the bass down because people's ears were basically bleeding. I also let him know that i'm an electrical engineer and have studied acoustics so i know that Tijs wasn't cranking it for 'effect', he was just too hammered to realize and the people that were putting up with it didn't know what to do about it. don't be so naive.

i repeat, the only person that was taking his job seriously was max graham.

also i should mention that one of the promoters was really cool but i forget his name. he was wearing a green shirt.
max graham
yes i forgot that too...we were all complaining about the bass and i stood next to tiesto and sound guy as tiesto complained on more than one occasion that he wanted it turned down "sounds too bass heavy and muffled" "we are working on it" the sound guys stated...company that did the booth was diff to company that did the floor so maybe it did not get communicated properly...

opinions on facts are one thing, and opinions on runours and inventions are something else.

I saw people get frustrated because they standed for 3-4 hours waiting for Tiesto to come in behind the booth in that short alley.

How can you not be frustrated waiting 3-4 hours for anything, let alone for tiesto. I even smelled the odour of piss back there, someone must have pissed himself waitinf for Tiesto:rolleyes:

And the worst he just barged in to the booth pissing off people even more.

Who do you blame? People who put themselves in a position to be frustrated or the guy who comes in late because of the weather, plane, etc.
