Oh, my apologies.

But, it is funny how sensitive you are on this topic. Maybe if you gave me a clearer answer the first time i asked, like "The videos taken by lott won't be up for a few ________ " (however long it will take)

That would have been a good response. You replied "Don't expect today, or tomorrow..."

ing retard.

no i see why you're a photographer. don't need much brains for that.

This won’t be as intense as Idma’s review because I do not have the patience that he does.

Anyways, I left my house in Barry’s Bay at about 6am on December 31. The traffic was awful, and our car’s heat decided to go on vacation. I have never experienced such a cold car ride in my life. I felt like I was back in Nunavut on a ski-doo in the freezing cold. We arrived in Ottawa at about 10. After visiting people for a while, we headed to Ingleside (near Cornwall) to see my uncle. And from there, we left for Laval, Quebec, because my mum was going to hang out with my uncle and his girlfriend. Anyways, we arrived there at approximately 15:00. His girlfriend (whom I had never met before) gave me a super warm blanket as a Christmas gift. I was happy because I like blankets. They dropped me off at my hostel at around 16:00. It was NOT fun carrying all my luggage up the steep hostel stairs on my own.
I hung out on my own for a while, because Idma, Simon, Kat, and Dave hadn’t arrived yet. When they finally got to the place, we went out to one of my favourite MTL bars, Les 3 Brasseurs (with Dima’s cousin, Maria). The last time I was there was about a year ago when I went on a horrible date with a French guy named Francois. But that’s another story for another day. I had some sangria, and whatever that was that Dmitri made me drink. Oh, and we all had orgasms. :) Yum.
After that, we ventured out to Au Diable Vert – a Francophone/hip hop/euro kinda club. I was happy to hear “desenchantee” being played. And I went through yucky DJ kisses so they would play the songs that stupid old Dima made me request. Other than that, I don’t really know what to say about this night. Simon was BAD! I slapped him across the face countless times, and he still didn’t seem to understand that I wasn’t in the mood for “buttsecks.” I remember slapping him so hard that someone’s beer bottle smashed on the floor. Simon thought that HE had smashed MY beer, so he offered to buy me a new one. ;) Aw, poor drunk Simon. Wait, I do not feel sorry for him. I went outside with him and Dave, and this dude came out of a limo and started yelling at them for speaking English in a Francophone city. Simon ended up trying to pimp me out to the random. It went kinda like this:

Simon: Hey, do you want to get with this girl tonight? She’s really easy!

Random guy: Yeah! How much???

Simon: Twenty bucks!

Me: *Slaps Simon across the face*

Random guy: Hmm I think she’s worth more than that.

Simon: Okay…thirty?

Etc etc. It was bad. I was kinda pissed off, but it was quite obvious that Simon was extremely smashed. The random guy ended up leaving after I refused to go into the limo with him. And he told me to call him (even though we never exchanged numbers – thank God).

After this, Simon and Dave went to le village to party it up proper at Parking. Kat, Dima, and I went back to the sketchy hostel to chill out for a while before going to bed.

In the middle of the night, I woke up to some strange text messages from Simon. I still have them on my phone.

” Whats. Up. Are you still up text of back its david”

”were on our way home do you want 2 come out somewhere test back”

”X”

”we are coming now stay up 4 us 10min”

Boys and girls, that is what drugs do to you. :P

I woke up early because I had to work on an article that I was supposed to write for Resolution. So I went to a coffee shop and tried to focus on my work. One hour and only one paragraph later, I went back to the hostel. I read the newspaper in the lounge area because everyone in my room was sleeping, and I didn’t want to disturb them. They woke up a couple hours later, and went out for brekkie while I had a shower.
I went out with Maria, Dima, and Kat to the top of Mont-Royal, and Maria then dropped us off on rue ste. Catherine. We walked around the malls, and mainly went into shoe stores. Then we walked down the street for a while.
We went back to the hostel, relaxed, and then everyone went out for food while I stayed in and tried to concentrate on my article. I ended up falling asleep.
We left for le Centre Bell, and I had to split up from everyone because I had a different ticket. Ummm, the security was VERY tight. Everyone got strip searched. It was worse than airport security. They even held people with possession of drugs in cells for the night.
I met up with a guy in charge of the event, and we chatted for a while. He said he wanted to talk to me during the event about interviews, but I never did find him. Then I got through and entered the main room about 10 minutes before 12. It sucked that I was alone, but a bunch of random people gave me kisses, lol. Then they dropped foam from machines after the countdown. That’s something you can expect in Montreal. They have tonnes of wikkid foam parties! At like 12:01, the crew spotted me.
The night was spectacular. The DJs brought a very wikkid vibe to the event. Actually, I noticed that PLUR was in full effect that night – which I can’t say about many EDM events anymore. Everyone looked out for eachother. At one point (probably at around 5 or 6 am), I was sitting alone, and I must have had 5 people come up to me and ask if I was alright.
Okay, so funny story: I was talking to this guy online (about a week before going to Montreal) who is a TA from USA. He and his wife planned on driving to Montreal for Resolution, and they wanted to hang out with me. I told them the night before to come visit us at Diable Vert, but it got really late and we left before they got there. The morning of Resolution, I checked my voicemail and it was from Eric. It said something along the lines of,
“Kate. This is Eric. I just wanted to let you know that my wife and I went to the club last night and ran into your boyfriend, Dmitri. All I have to say is that if you are associating yourself with someone like that, you musn’t be a very nice person, and I don’t think that we want to get to know you afterall. Who the hell does he think he is, calling my wife a little boy, and saying ‘ the Chinese?’ I am really not impressed. If I were on my own turf, I would have handled the situation a lot differently. So whatever. *click.*”
LOL I WAS SO SHOCKED AND CONFUSED!!!!! So was poor Dima. I called Eric back and asked what the hell happened. He was kinda angry on the phone, and told me how this tall Russian guy named Dmitri was at the club, and when Eric asked him where I was, “Dmitri” said I just went off for a bit, and that I was right with him a few minutes ago. “Dmitri” then proceeded to say some racist things to Eric’s Japanese wife.
I tried so hard to explain to Eric that it definitely wasn’t my Dmitri who said that to them. His wife got on the phone, and I had to explain it to her as well.
I met Eric and his wife at le Centre Bell, and the first thing that I wanted to do was introduce them to the REAL Dmitri. They were very relieved to know that I was telling the truth.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the DJs. Even though Tiesto was delayed by 3 hours, it was a wikkid experience to finally get to see him live. He played a good set. SMACK MY BITCH UP was probably my tune of the night. Ah but there were so many other good ones. My only complaint about the event was the fact that their bass was WAY too high. I have bad hearing as it is – this probably made it a bit worse.
I don’t remember what time we left, but I remember not wanting to go. Getting my jacket out of the media/VIP area was a hassle. It took us a while to find it. We were sooo sketchy, but somehow made our way back to the hostel, where we fell asleep for a few hours. Then in the evening, we went to Maria’s for dinner, and left Montreal. We got to Toronto at around 1am I think.

I had an amazing time. The memories will last the rest of my life. This was my first New Year’s Eve that I didn’t spend doing nothing in Barry’s Bay. So it was a huge deal to me.
