alright. that makes me feel better about the situation. it was just that one of the guys i asked replied "No man, you don't tell Tiesto what to do. if you did he'll punch you in the face" and i just stared at him with a blank face and the fact that i was giving money to someone who is so stupid disappointed me.

I will say that I still had a very fun time, sometimes i just get too caught up with stickling on party logistics.

Max Graham should write a review here ;)

I know all the DJs worked really hard to make sure the event could be marked as a success, but unfortunately I'm gonna have to add my name to the list of people who had a bad experience.

We drove from Ottawa (4 of us) and got to Bell Centre @ 10:45. Stood in the line not knowing it was for buying tickets and we had our $150 tickets in our hands... anyway, it was a chance for me to ask the girl at the box office if I could take my camera inside and she said "oh yeah, of course, it's a small camera. You can't take Sony video cams inside cause the promoters are filming the event". I don't know where she got that info from, but we stood in the line to get in. They asked if we had our tickets 3 times before getting to the guy who actually scanned them... why the hell did they have to ask so many times?
Didn't have to use the coat check, so we walked right to the security check. The gf, her sis, and her friend got in (and these are girls with loads of stupid in their purse)... and there I am, a guy with a pack of gum in his pocket waiting in the ing line for 15 mins. At this point it's 11:52... the security girl searched me, took a look at my camera and said no you can't take this in. I'm like "the girl at the box office said I could bring it in" she's like nope, I asked her again "it's 5 mins to the count down, let me take it in. I won't use it... take the batteries". She kept saying no, walked over to her boss, waited for him to finish talking to some jackass for 5 mins... the crowd started doing the count down, so I missed the first NYE I've been able to spend with my gf in the past 3 years... the girl comes back and tells me to go back to coat check... so I go back, wait in line, check it in, walk back, the girl searches me AGAIN, and finally let's me go in. So far my experience = . :sadgreen:

I walked in, the place looked really nice... a sea of people dancing... dirty beats... REALLY loud sound system... amazing lights and video screens. So we danced for a couple of hours and I decided to wait for Tiesto to really give it all my energy. I'm really a trance-freak, so I can only handle the techno/house sets for a couple of hours. It's not like I absolutely hate them and won't dance to them... I DJ myself, I know those guys up there are doing the best they can and for anyone to disrespect their music is not right... but 7 hours of that stuff was getting on my nerves. So I decided to sit down with my gf and wait for Tiesto. Basically we got surrounded by a group of smokers, so as soon as one person finished smoking another would light one up... and we had told the other 2 girls to meet us there so we got stuck sitting there and getting lots of second hand smoke... yummm.

As we all know, Tiesto was close to 3 hours late... I don't blame him personally, I think the promoters and his booking agent ed up big time. Some of us had to leave by a certain time... I didn't wanna be driving back to Ottawa at noon. So anyway, after 2 hours of Tiesto playing not-so-good trancy tracks and his VERY predictable own tracks, we decided to leave and got home around 1 PM.

I would have expected better organization from people who charged us $150/ticket. But oh well, what's done is done. Happy 2007 to all the TAs :)

was it the guy with a dark blue shirt with white lines doing the vjing for tiesto? What a dick this guy was, he bitched about the people around him in the booth yet he got many of his buddy in there:rolleyes:

malek what your saying is rediculus, you say its not tiestos fault, it had to do with plane mix ups and delays etc... they worked as hard as they could blah blha blah its not their fualt.

then you attack the other poster saying he set himself up for a dissapointment and that he could have prevented that disapointment by not getting his panties in a twist

well heres what needs to be said. tiesto is the one who put himself into the position of playing 2 gigs distanced apart on one of the craziest nights of the year. it is his and his managements fault that he was 3 hours late, and a flight delay or whatever is a not a good excuse. since when is their a rule that djs have to land in the city they are playing in only minutes before their gig. its called get their early so you have more time to prepare. whats your defense agaisnt that, saying that he had 2 gigs? once again dont overbook yourself in an attempt to make even more money.

oh and one more point, how many other djs were extrememly late/no shows that night? how were they able to be on time? duuuuh its a no brainer

i wish i was at this party, tiesto or not :)

remember, the ppl commenting probably chugged 47pills and are in no way qualified to give a proper review of the night :B:B

You guys seem to ignore that the promoters did not invent the concept of 2 gigs in one night.

They managed to pull it off many many times with gigs between TO and MTL, and NYC and MTL and it worked.

There was a 3:30 hours for him to get from Boston to Montreal which is very reasonable considering he's taking a private jet.

But happens right??

no, not him, but his visuals were good if he was using windows 95 as his OS.

malek for 150 bucks its unacceptable no matter how many times it has worked in the past.

this time it didnt, and thats ing bull

its very simple, tiesto flys in the night before or early in the day and then chills with bitchs until the gig, instead he double books himself and risks not being able to honour his contracts.

HE AND THE MANAGEMENT CHOSE TO TAKE THIS RISK, AND THE ODDS CAME OUT AGAISNT THEM

how they choose to deal with that issue is up to them, but to come out and say that it was out of their control, they are not at fualt and that there is nothing they can do about it is nuts.
