Probably not a smart idea getting a black one in summer but meh, I'll complain later :p

Switching from GM to Ford...dont they shoot people for doing that down there?

The support is 50/50 ;)

Btw, never refer to a Holden as a GM. Ever. Holden have always had their own quality control and designers and any self respecting Aussie would kick you in the nuts if you called their Holden a GM.

Well thankfully my balls are out of reach for most aussies, and if we ever meet im sure to provide you with many other, other much better reasons for kicking me in the nuts :p

Besides i think ive mentioned this once before (perhaps even in this thread). Fighting over which is better, holden or ford is like fighting over which is better ass or balls cance. If you think about it, you really dont want either of those.

That's not true. Both Holden and the local Ford make very appropriate and quite good V6s for the Australian market that sell for a good price and retain their value.

There has been an influx of foreign cars that have added some spice into the market, but the constant competition between the two is a great thing for the consumer. They both update their V6s and V8s almost every 2nd year.
Repairs are also cheap, as are parts.
For 40-50K new, you can't go wrong in most cases.

Lulz. Most of the Ford vs Holden thing comes from Australian motor racing. The V8 Supercars thing wasn't always like it is now. For a couple of years (early/mid 90s) they had r32 GTR Skylines competing with the big V8 Falcons and Commodores. And hammering them pretty badly too, I should add. So, of course, they were removed from the competition, for the sake of 'parity'.

Aren't they thinking of adding the Toyota Aurions to it now?

Ah but you forget, i have lived here in europe all my life and we are taught to adore italian and german cars, accepts the frech, laugh at the english (except the astons) appreciate the reliabilitay of japanese cars as for everything else, disregard them as their existance is not of any importance :p

Also, i think this news bit explains everything about australian motor racing.

V8 fans face slab limit at Bathurst 1000
October 6, 2009

V8 fans will again be limited to one slab of beer a day at this year's Bathurst 1000 car race.

Police will be focusing on reducing alcohol-related crime when petrol heads descend upon Mount Panorama, Bathurst, in NSW's central west, this week.

For the third year running, adult race-goers will be limited to bringing one case (24 cans) of full-strength beer or one block (36 cans) of light or mid-strength beer each day.

Restrictions also apply to one case (24 cans) of pre-mixed drinks a day or one cask of wine up to four litres.

Combinations of the options will not be allowed.

Well, technically speaking, yes. But that doesn't make them all that good. The Ford Fiesta is an exception.
