See, I dont care what you're doing up on the stage. I don't care if you have a laptop and a prerecorded mix set (as long as you're not making me pay $70 hehe), as long as I can dance my ass off for hours and hours in a great environment, with great people, then make all the heart shapes you want. Clap all you want. Be Jesus all you want. *shrugs* I get lost in the sound. That's all I want. Make me get lost in the sound.

To bad the rest dont see it that way

that is pretty gay. i hate the fact that he goes around the world playing a lot of the same tracks to different cities. knowing that he's got the cuepoints marked for every track he plays makes it even worse >.<

You're not a dj are you?

Well, to just throw my 2 cents in, despite whatever tracks people didn't enjoy in his setlist, whatever things that Armin did with his hands/arms/body/ears & so forth, whatever people didn't like about the lights/lasers.......I had the best night of my life. Great tracks/tunes IMO. Great crowd, great people that I came with & met, awesome vibe altogether.

I don't understand all the knitpickers, analyzing his set and every little aspect of it and critcizing it apart just because it wasn't what they wanted. Like, WE GET IT... you love trance and you're not happy with Saturday night because it wasn't what YOU wanted and you know a lot more than other people who just went because their friends went and dragged them. Just because it wasn't like he was "a couple of years ago" or even if "the #1 tag got to him"... The majority of people there didn't spend their night thinking about that. I'm sure 90% of people, including myself and my friends made the best out of it NO MATTER what. Enjoying the music and atmosphere. I was there goin all out - Not saying "damn he f*cked up that transition, or damn this track is boring...next". He dropped tracks, some of which were expected, but what does it matter? We're there to enjoy the show.

I dont understand why people would even want to hear the same time after time. Its like people will look at a tracklist from a couple nights b4 and bitch and moan that he dropped 75% of the same , Im sure hes not catering to the few people on the boards keeping track of what songs he plays each night. And who honestly remembers if he ed a transition, or everytrack in order. People need to enjoy the music and the party and stop taking it so seriously.

The opinions here represent .1% of the crowd. Lets face it, the place was going crazy and probably 95% of the place had the time of their lives. The people here are just highly critical of big name djs, comes with the territory. Don't worry though, I thought it was great ;)

a bedroom DJ but the only sets i plan out are my weekly mix that i broadcast online. if i were to play live i'd only pick out my opening 1-2 tracks and a closer most likely. i dislike the idea of a DJ planning out sets etc.

I am so glad i spent the night dancing my ass off with my girl and my friends than staring at armin like the rest of the gimps in that place. Maybe im oldschool but since when did going to parties become about staring at the dj and jumping up and down when he drops a hot track. Its all the people that stare at him and video record him that ruin the scene, that place lit up like a christmas tree with camera screens recording as soon as he came on like watching a dj do all that gay is so interesting. And yes that pvd did at the hotel in miami was a lil gay but his set in dec was retarded, he had the few people there going ape all night not just jumping up and down blowing kisses to the dj.

Spot on.

and it's not like pvd's live keyboarding is anything intense. he plays simple melodies. the only thing impressive is the live mashups that he does - but those don't add up to enough for me to really enjoy his sets. of all the pvd sets i've heard, the ones i've really loved are the ones where he's just DJing.

Agreed. He should focus on finding some better music to play instead of this live keyboarding nonsense. I'd rather him stand there doing poses while playing a good track than him busting his ass re-editing Funkagenda - WTF for the millionth time - it's not as though I'd be staring at him anyhow.

Yep. Admittedly, I don't go to Armin these days expecting amazing music, because he simply doesn't play much of it anymore. I do go however to have a good time with friends and possibly meet new people. That's enough for me, and invariably he'll play a quality tune or two as a bonus. Just have a drink, enjoy the scenery and relax. Leave the intricate criticisms for others.

WOWWWW...that was sooo creepy hahaha..I'm always at those parties too haha they make me invite "all my bitches".
ownymcown
be quiet, i didn't recognize you just the guys to the right haha.

and i personally am not being critical of armin because he is a "big name dj", i can appreciate anyone who throws down a good set. when tiesto tore it up at hammerstein, everyone here recognized it for what it was, a great set.

just because some of you had a great time, it does not mean others can't be critical of the same night. who says there has to be a consensus? we're just giving our opinions, and like i said i've never been so unimpressed by a trance concert in my entire life.

and i wasn't picking on his hand motions as a primary concern, it was just secondarily irritating when compounded with the lackadaisical set and other factors.
