As in, if I marked them up? Because I wouldn't do that, instead I would just wait until all my friends started going "AHhhh armin is in a week and I forgot to buy tickets and I wanna go but now its $80!!!" Thats when I start bringing out the "What Will You Do For Bryan" list.

LOL! i can see that being a lot of fun

Yes EDM events are unique but after say 5, 10, years or so do you still think they will be, or could they turn into the same thing those concerts once were to you. When I go to an event I go for the music, if it gets to the point where being with the people is more fun than hearing the music I may as well invite those people over to my place and keep my 70$ admission fee and throw on a good set or random tracks in my living room.

In any case I am glad you had a great time and remained positive about the event. I'll stop posting in the thread now since I am bringing in the negative vibes :p

Haha I'd actually say, 4 years into it, I'm having just as much possibly even more fun than when I was a noob (I was way too serious when I started, and learned to lighten up and enjoy company with the etards and transients)! It changes overtime but doesn't mean its necessarily good or bad.

If I partied in LA, and DC, and New York like you do then I prob would too. Change of scenery also makes things more interesting, unfortunately I really cannot travel as often as I would like to.

hehe i actually have yet to hit up a massive in Cali/LA <3. Been meaning to for a few yrs now. Id just want to experience it. and oh yeah, the actual LOVEFEST or LOVE Parade -- the one time i go to SF during that time, and my friend who we were staying with only wants to go to the LOVEFEST *Afterparty* cuz he claims hes NOT "into" parades (if u can believe *THAT*!! -- Going to a true dance parade one day is one of the things I *must* do someday, whether in Cali or abroad). oh well maybe next time.

I'm going miss the Lovefest in Hawaii by a few days, though I hear its not the same as it was a few years ago. But I've been talking to a few people on the hawaii scene and they did almost land PVD and Armin this year. They're slowly changing the whole scene over there, and I'm excited as hell for when I move out there because were starting up a whole new idea/community/etc that just focus's on Hawaii, and maybe 2010 lovefest will have someone like PVD. It's held at a Outdoor Waterpark. DUDE, Hawaii, Outdoors, Trance....wooo! It draws like 5000 people.

Well at one point weren't those concerts fun to you? Until you experienced something better? Well it's kind of like that for me.
When you have seen an artist at his best it's hard to go back to hearing him when he's only mediocre (example: Tobacco Warehouse) Especially if he was one of your favorite's at some point. I know they have their ups and downs and it is also quite possible for them to make a comeback...if they want to, but in the meantime I choose not to bear witness to their lack of effort. Being #1 corrupts DJ's in a sense, he probably beleives he could play anything at all and everyone will still love him. Yea, I am probably spoiled mainly due to the fact that I listen to a lot of music, nearly non-stop all day everyday. For me it's about having standards and not just listening to whatever the "best" DJ hammers out and beleiving it's awesome just because he played it. The surprise factor also has to do with a lot of the magic for me at an event. Every individual goes to events for their own reasons. The fact that I even bother to read the threads after the fact does prove that I have at least a shred of hope that he has the ability to re-gain my appreciation of him as an artist.

hahaha yea you do give a good point that in a few years i may thnk something totally different especially after seeing these DJs tons of times... and yea, having all your frieends over w. some beers and your OWN ipod playing is a much cheaper and more enjoyable way to do it sometimes for sure!!!. hahahah :)
