Saw both Armin and PVD during WMC. Armin played so much fluff and man so many poses every few seconds like okay we get you Armin, you <3 us lmao.......
PVD's set blew Armin's out the water during WMC! |

It's time for some fresh new talent. Bigger or the proclaimed "#1 status" doesn't necesarily mean better. If the night is going to be this predictable I'd rather just stay home and imagine it....then read all the complaints the following day on TA.
My personal rules to club by.... (purely IMO)
1. If you attend an event and it sucks DON'T go to the performers next event.
2. Never base your party decisions on "someone else" or my "friends" are going to be there. happens, people don't show...your stuck at a party you didn't want to go to in the first place.
3. Don't assume anything about a DJ based on his history. Just because he was "good" back then doesn't mean he is now or even spinning the same genre for that matter. Do your research and decide based on some recent sets or tracklists.
4. If a DJ tends to spin a lot of the same tracks from set to set he's likely going to play them at the upcoming performance, by that time you will probably already be sick of hearing them. BORING! If this happens..wait a show or two before seeing him again in hopes that he changes up his tracklist and surprises you.
5. Never pay full/door price, if you know you are going FOR CERTAIN get advanced tickets and stop raping your wallet.
6. If its just too good to be true, it probably is...Don't beleive any speculation on an event until is is confirmed by a reliable source such as the artist himself, promoter, manager, etc. (Not his friends mom's half cousin's babysitter, or your uncle that happens to be delivering a lot of port-o-poties.)

Z, you are SPOT ON here. ^^All reasons I struggled with in making my decision ("oh my gawd he was soo good in 2006, maybe I will MISS SOMETHING!!!"....until I realize its 2009! ;)) :haha: I got some texts saturday night that made me realize that the above rules certainly ring true and I saved myself some much needed vacation money!! :) :)
(that....and the crackhead convention....ugh! I repeat....do what you want with your body, but for real, it gets VERY annoying to step over mounds of bodies, see people staring into space for hours, slamming into people, puking on themselves....YUCK!!!):whip: |

@ Z and Kelly: But i think the issue was that a lot of us expected it to be good because the last show was good. IMO his Halloween set was so much fun! The venue rocked! There were not people dying all over the place and the crowd was like 1/2 of what it was that night....
So, in SOME of our defenses, we went based on those rules- noting that we actually LIKE Armin :) as for the people who bitch and moan about cheesey armin and then go and come and bitch and moan some more- get a grip- I agree. You already knew you wouldnt like it! |

lol no one is hating on you girl!! do you know how many times I have been to ferry and thought the night was epic...and read bitchy reviews by other people the next day?? lol :)
I dont think Z or I were aiming this at anyone in particular, because we ALL have our preferences. I guarantee armin was decent on saturday, but for me, I will see him this weekend in montreal AND I know that I liked armin more in his hay day of 2005-2006! <3 <3 SOOOOO epic...I would have cut my left arm off before I missed one of his sets...... :) :) enjoy his sets and never let people sway your opinion of what you think is fun!! <3 |

Oh no... that wasn't directed at you at all. Mainly the people who post their complaints time and time again yet keep actually going to the event. I just find it funny, and I wonder how many times they have to torture themselves before they realize they don't like it.
What's good and what isn't is a matter of personal taste which everyone is entitled to and I am not knocking anyone for their opinions or even their right to complain rather their lack of being able to realize the solution. |

such a great vibe that night. met up with soo many oldschool ppl and made new friends
so it def remains one of the better nights at a megaclub in a looong time cuz of it =)
so whos ready for K&A (lol drew wants to go to that **shruggs** we'll see)
...and Giuseppe two wks after?
