Oh hey, ya'll know Usama and Nadia and that crew? Futersi who are you? Do we actually know each other? I'm so confused. I know we spoke on the phone that time. And microfonejunkie, who are you? It's Erica, btw.

haha wow... And then we wonder why our city's promoters can't organize an electronic music festival in an arena or huge space... Who the hell wants stupid people like that as a liability. People need to be more responsible, jeez...

Why i LOVE EDM is because you are never really sure what your going to hear. yes, you have an idea of what you will hear if you follow Z's rules and scope out the latest sets, but still there is an element of surprise. Its funny to me that we, as a community, can be so critical of EDM events.. when they are truly such a unique live-music experience, unlike the boring, 100% limited-in-content shows I just talked about above.
I like to remind myself of this.. because yea, even though I mentioned that Armins set was a bit predictable in Boston... i just like to remember the uniqueness of all these shows and why i like this music and these live events in the first place. I think we can be too critical... As sam and I call it... "too spoiled".. haha.
Well at one point weren't those concerts fun to you? Until you experienced something better? Well it's kind of like that for me.
When you have seen an artist at his best it's hard to go back to hearing him when he's only mediocre (example: Tobacco Warehouse) Especially if he was one of your favorite's at some point. I know they have their ups and downs and it is also quite possible for them to make a comeback...if they want to, but in the meantime I choose not to bear witness to their lack of effort. Being #1 corrupts DJ's in a sense, he probably beleives he could play anything at all and everyone will still love him. Yea, I am probably spoiled mainly due to the fact that I listen to a lot of music, nearly non-stop all day everyday. For me it's about having standards and not just listening to whatever the "best" DJ hammers out and beleiving it's awesome just because he played it. The surprise factor also has to do with a lot of the magic for me at an event. Every individual goes to events for their own reasons. The fact that I even bother to read the threads after the fact does prove that I have at least a shred of hope that he has the ability to re-gain my appreciation of him as an artist.
Yes EDM events are unique but after say 5, 10, years or so do you still think they will be, or could they turn into the same thing those concerts once were to you. When I go to an event I go for the music, if it gets to the point where being with the people is more fun than hearing the music I may as well invite those people over to my place and keep my 70$ admission fee and throw on a good set or random tracks in my living room.
In any case I am glad you had a great time and remained positive about the event. I'll stop posting in the thread now since I am bringing in the negative vibes :p

seriously!!! Everytime I bitch and moan that we have nothign "special" heere in the lines of big events Im going to remember this night....The best is the pukers who are laid out like that in their puke- who wants to clean up after that !!???
although....I cant mention enough- this is the first event Ive been to that it seemed this bad....so maybe there was just something in the air. Or maybe Im just normally oblivious to the world around me..
im telling you- they were having their semi-annual trunk sales...

I totally get what you are saying Z!! I think too, though, that there is a certain level of love for Armin- like, for instance, Elyse and I adore him. So, he has a lot more leg room in our books when it comes to a predicatable/boring set. Where as someone we care a little less about would probably get the smack down and no more of our company at future shows. I think that if we were talking about someone less commercial, less "known" less...ARMIN....at least for me- Id be saying the same thing as you are. :) I dont see you as being negative at all....the opinion/facts are always welcome even if its not a pro-armin one ;) :D

Wasn't there but I'm sure one of those ID's must be:
Bobina - Invisible Touch (Ferry Corsten's Touch) as its a brand new tune and Armin played it in his WMC set.
Frutersi
We are all way too spoiled. Ive seen too many awesome shows. I DO go to hear "cheese" that me and my friends can all sing along to - but i also want to be WOWed by music i havent heard before. My perfect set is a good balance between the two (ie. markus schulz @ pacha last this year and last year :D :D :D )
umm who said the lights sucked??? i am def one of those guys who look at the lights as if they are "the second coming of christ" lolol
