i was so stoked to see ATB is playing even though i'm not going to make it down.
This is the best lineup i have seen on a mainstage in several years!!!!
Why aren't more events JUST like this one?
ATB has been SO good the last two times i saw him. Both times he surprised me at the tracks he played and the energy he brought.

sick...hopefully this will keep the shufflers away.

hhahah shufflers are all the kids, and its 18+ so hopefully we wont see any...regardless, those damn shufflers will shuffle to any kind of music
sightless
Don't see whats wrong with shufflers/shuffling? Trance music is quite good music to dance/shuffle anyway you want. Nocturnal has its roots as a rave afterall, concert/festival or not. Raves are about expression, and being able to do what you like. Luckily this is an Insomniac event. If it was a GoVentures, who likes to take people's partying rights away, event. (LoveFest had drug dogs outside the event! Including a lot of stings.)

I have said it once and I will say it again...

Shuffle = 2010 version of the NordicTrack.

Shuffling, Runningman, NordicTrack... are all "brandname" rave dances that fit the EDM subculture. Honestly, looking retarded dancing shouldn't be on anyones mind while at a rave IMO. There all forms of expression... I mean we all do a little fist pumping, when tired/can't dance, now and then don't we. Well I am a hypocrite, we all have our gripes about raves I guess. (I just recently called ATB = Asian Trance Bhudda, not my joke, but so true. I'm asian myself. haha.)

Henry, question for ya,
Does the lack of smileys under the Labyrinth stage mean no Menno de Jong?
Or can you not comment yet? or did it fall though?

i think its a fad..a dance fad, couple years ago u would see no one shuffling. similar to hyphy, stanky leg, and all those other rap dance fads.

True. They are all fads, but hey it gets people to start dancing and branching out. The good thing about the fad dances are that they develop rhythm... Once you get a genuine rhythm down many branch out and incorporate other dances more easily. Shuffling as a base will eventually allow all these shufflers to express movement in more and better ways.

One advantageous thing about shuffling... Shufflers/"movement" dancers in general like to dance in the back of the dance stage to get more freedom of movement (Lessening DJ worship as well)... This reduces the "push/crush" that happens towards the front of the stage that happens at every event. The push still happens, but its not bone crushing. An example of this is an Infected Mushroom stage vs. any other dancing EDM stage. The push towards the front of an Infected Mushroom stage can absolutely be "deadly". This is due to the lack of creative dancing movement IMO. While shuffling may not be the most creative dance move, I think its a great way to gain rhythm and to incorporate as a move (Sick at buildups/breakdowns).

Damn typed a lot, haha sorry for the threadjack!
