I read a lot about Buddhism in my late teens, and it shaped my world view ever since, but there are two reasons why I wouldn't ever consider myself a Buddhist:
The Three Refuges: The Buddha, the Dharma (Buddha's teachings) and the Sangha (the Buddhist community) are of the utmost importance for Buddhists. Buddha's teaching are all very interesting, but I really don't feel like making part of a community of like-minded people;
The Four Noble Truths: I can accept the first two just fine but, once the Buddhist stoicism kicks in, I just don't think that's a life worth living. Although the Eightfold Path doesn't look very bad at first, you need to keep in mind that the Buddhist goal is to reach Nirvana (which is Pali for "Eternal Ungivable ness") and stop the cycle of life and death. There's no reason we should believe there's a cycle to begin with, let alone believe there's a need to break free;
The Icing on the Cake: Unfortunately, religious views just tend to become more and more superstitious as the years go by. Just because I reckon the Buddhist concept of impermanence is a better description of reality than anything devised by the Graeco-Christian fetish with the unchanging, that doesn't mean I'm going to accept all the nuttery regarding reincarnation and the like.
And for me, the nutery of reincarnation I find comforbility in it but while reading Krsna, I find it so full of dung that they can preach this reincarnation as a reality of their objectives as truth and also preach the fact we have done something right in our past lifecycle to be Human at this moment(the most intelligent being on planet Earth) and also say while we are Human it is the up most importance for us to find Krsna Consciousness which is the equivalent to Nirvana but yet not even the up most of Masters in Krsna Physiology can offer and kind of guide to meditation in order for you to get in touch with your past life.
So, I decided:
Yes, I find reincarnation to have a comforbility in my mind set but yet I am also being told there is no way to regain memories from our past life and only to reach Krsna Consciousness as a Human while I can to obtain good Karma so when I die I can choose where I want to go and what I want to do with my next life.
So, my comforbility in reincarnation is now in a bit of limbo just for that fact alone.
I just like to think the soul becomes part of some integrated energy systems while the body rots in the ground or is burned to ashes.

Basically, Krsna Consciousness and this Nirvana is just old terminology for the concept of the energy life force that surrounds nature.

Wasn't Micheal Behe's irreducible complexity one of the main arguments used (and then debunked) in one of the more notable court cases concerning teaching ID in schools a few years ago? It wasn't good enough to stand up in a court room with an AMERICAN jury. That should attest to it's illegitimacy. I remember one of the examples used in its debunking was the flagellum and its protein 'motor.' It was shown to be reducible, as with one or two proteins removed it lost its rotary ability and became the same instrument used in bacterial syringes used to pump toxins into other cells.
EDIT: it's actually explained in greater detail on this wiki page (last paragraph in that section)

it's garbage.. don't waste your time. Evolution has been proven time and time again.

Op: like someone said debunking ID is waste of time. Its followers don't believe in science or logic. So trying to explain things to them won't work. As quickly as you can plug their "holes" they will point to new ones.
Desiderata: The most important thing to keep in mind is that all religions are a creation of man not god. If one suits you better or gives you more comfort then another so be it.

Anyone who believes in ID should watch this documentary. They completely pwn the people who decided to cross out the word 'creationism' and replace it with 'intelligent design' claiming it to be an actual science.
e- you can find it on netflix if you have an account.
