I'd be interested if there were other factors involved in his getting accepted to Harvard (if he's a lineage, from an ultra-rich family, etc.). I mean, George W. Bush went to Yale. :tongue2

There's also MANY things written in there that people have not know for over a milennium but are finding out within the past hundreds of years or so. Stuff like:

- The mountains extend deep into the earth (they're like ice-bergs in that only their tips are showing)
- The mountains help disperse earthquakes
- Gender is determined from the sperm, not the egg
- The moon actually slightly bobs up and down in its orbit (not known by many, but ok i'll admit that it could have been possible that many Greek scientists could have figured this out back in the day... i'll give you that).
- Milk comes from the cow's blood and excrements
- That the universe is expanding (yeah... imagine people thinking that over 1,000 years ago)
- That the bones in the fetus form BEFORE the flesh does, not at the same time or vice-versa
- That the front of the head (the cerebrum) is responsible for sinful behavior (
- That the chest contracts as you climb higher in altitude.
- Every planet and even the sun moves along in its own orbit (keep in mind over 1,000 years ago most people thought that everything revolved around the earth. MAYBE there were a few at that time that thought the planets revolved around the sun, but the Qur'an takes it one step further to even mention that the sun itself has its own orbit too)
- That even the fetus can laugh in cry while in the womb? (YES, search that up)

I know I may receive a lot of bashing for this, but until someone comes up with a better explanation of how this was written in the Qur'an 1,400 years ago, I'm going to believe in God.

Yes... guessing! That's how they did it! Really? Do you know what the chances are of getting all of these right with none wrong? The list continues by the way, and we are STILL discovering new things... And by wrong, don't point out other things that may seem "morally" wrong, but point out actual scientific errors that we can debate like human adults.

Great, neither do I. That's why I didn't bother reading your post, or anyone else's here for that matter.

You do make some important points. The Qu’ran also stated that Mohammad was a paedophile. I definitely believe that.

All of you are wrong because the Bible says so and there's no arguing against that. I mean it's the best selling book of all time. The numbers speak for themselves.
EddieZilker
Correct conclusions may be drawn from logical arguments consisting of rational explanation refraining from any hyperbole, what-so-ever. You can't explain that. It just happens.

Good point!

That PBS documentary on intelligent design made me feel warm inside. Maybe its hell coming to get me, or it might be that I get excited watching these intelligent design supporters get smashed down in court. The judge sums it all up nicely at the end when he makes it clear that intelligent design would set back Americans a few hundred years in Science. That would have been devastating to anyone who enjoys our gadgets and cancer treatments etc!

he came from meager beginnings- a family of Irish immigrants. Got a bachelor's in History from Marist College, then got a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University (classmates with Howard Stern which is pretty cool), then went back to school not too long after graduating and got into Harvard, and got a Masters in Public Administration. All on his own, all by hard work and no special favors. Give the guy some credit. ;)

I do, that's why it feels insulting that he seems to dumb himself down like that and I sometimes would rather believes Russell is right.
